The Philippines Has No Love for Biebz

Justin Bieber may not be welcome in the Philippines any time soon. He mocked boxer Manny Pacquiao's loss to Juan Miguel Marquez last Saturday, posting memes of his defeat on Instagram. The government of the Philippines is none too pleased.

A lot has come out of the Juan Manuel Marquez – Manny Pacquiao bout that went down last Saturday night. First was the kind of weird news that failed presidential candidate Mitt Romney introduced himself to Pacquio with: “Hello Manny. I ran for President. I lost.” Uh. Wut?

Now Justin Bieber has gone and pissed off Pacquiao’s whole home nation. Dammit, man.

After Manny Pacquiao’s embarrassing defeat, Justin Bieber posted two pictures on Instagram mocking his loss. Justin Bieber is chummy with longtime Pacquiao rival (and future opponent? Maybe? Probably not), Floyd Mayweather. The Bieb, who probably wouldn’t bust a grape in a food fight, thought it wise to chime in to boost his friend’s already big head.

One picture showed Simba trying to revive the downed boxer, a la The Lion King.  The other still-framed Pac-man’s fall to the mat, superimposing it next to a similarly leaning Michael Jackson.

Representative Carol Jane Lopez is heading a call to ban the teen dream from the Philippines for mocking their native son: a government official and a possible presidential candidate.

Many in the country, including fans, are up in arms, so much so that #banjustinbieber is trending on Twitter.

They love Justin Bieber, but they love Manny Pacqiao more.
