Top Five Games That Are Better Solo

Here are the top five games I'd rather play alone.
This article is over 10 years old and may contain outdated information

For the top five games I'd rather play alone, I decided to do a slideshow so that the images and videos express just how I feel about each of these titles. We all have games we'd rather play alone for one reason or another, this is my list.

Number 5: Sonic 3

If anyone remembers the co-op on Sonic 3 you'll remember that Tails almost always gets left behind. That's not even the biggest problem, most of the time the flying mechanic for carrying Sonic just doesn't quite take you as far as you need to go. Then you go into the sphere worlds or the star post mini-games and Tails just messes you up on otherwise easy mechanics. Tails is a big distraction as a companion in the game and could have been left as a single player option only. I feel this image fits my sentiment on the game perfectly. This is why Sonic 3 sits at number five on my list.

Number 4: Halo

I was never overly into the matchmaking aspect of the Halo series. I understand that I am one of the few here, but to each his own. On that point, however, I hate running campaign with others. I tend to run at my own pace with two modes: up in Covenant  faces blowing their heads off, or across the map sniping Covenant still blowing their heads off. It depends on the stage as to which mode I prefer.

It's not as big a problem if you set up roles before a stage, but if you just get a group of people together and run campaign someone always grabs my guns. I tend to watch the cutscenes in Halo because I enjoy the story but it always causes me to miss out on my guns in co-op. This is why Halo is number four on my list. Stay away from my guns, there are many like them but these guns are mine.

Number 3: Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy

Theatrhythm is a very fun game to play solo. Multi-player this game becomes a nightmare trying to beat certain songs. If you've played Theatrhythm before you know how complicated it can get. Now imagine jumping in those difficult songs you can barely clear on your own and have to also depend on another person as well, I think I'll pass on that. I'll continue to get my groove on solo!

Number 2: Pokémon

So here's a popular topic, "Gotta' Catch'em All," eh? Not if you don't have multiple friends playing. Well I'll just "nope" right out of that situation. Everyone wants to trade me for my precious Pokémon, well what if I don't want to trade them? This picture shows all the pleading faces of the people who want to steal my Pokémon away. You can't have them I say, go catch your own!

Number 1: Every heavily story oriented RPG ever made!

"You're gonna attack them?" I think Peter sums it up really nice for me here. I can't even stand people watching me play RPGs in the same room. I am very easily distracted and people like to ask me half a dozen questions while I'm playing and it drives me insane. If I'm playing an RPG and someone else walks in, I just find the nearest save and quit the game. Not to be rude, I just really dislike being distracted from the story.

That wraps up my top five games I'd rather play alone. Thanks for reading let me know your top five in the comments below.
