XBOX One $499 Price: Fans React

XBOX One was priced on Monday at the pre-E3 conference, and the responses on Twitter were immediate.

The Outraged

The most unhappy reactions tended to focus solely on the price, and what it may have been without some of the bells and whistles.

$499 for a console that focuses on TV and literally the same shooting games they’ve made previous? No thanks. Happy with my Wii U.

Happy responses tended to point out that the price isn’t that high when compared to PS3 prices of yesteryear.

$499 Xbox One ain’t cheap but it’s still cheaper than the $600 price tag the PS3 launched at.

$499 is a lot. It’s a reasonably price, but its still a lot. Comparing to iPad price is ok, but the difference is free/$1 games vs. $60.

The Xbox 360 launched at $549.99. Not sure why the launch price for the Xbox One at $499.99 is a shock to anyone.

not only is $499 cheaper than a gaming rig, but you get integrated gameplay streaming/capture (~$150) AND a kinect (~$100). price is fine.
