Journey to the Savage Planet is a quirky, irreverent space exploration game. While it might look a lot like Hello Games' No Man's Sky, Journey to the Savage Planet takes place on a single planet and is semi-open-world. Players take the role of a Kindred Space Corporation explorer sent to find a new home for humanity. Landing on AR-Y 26, players find that a supposedly uninhabited planet is, in fact, inhabited by alien flora and fauna, including the Cragclaw and mysterious Teratomo.
Journey to the Savage Planet features light RPG elements, including suit upgrades, visor upgrades, and weapon upgrades. There are also collectibles to find as you explore, including life-altering orange goo, hidden alien alloy, and cryptic alien tablets. It is the first game from Typhoon Studios and is published by 505 Games, the same publisher behind games like Control and Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.
Journey to the Savage Planet is currently available on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via the Epic Games Store. A Steam release is reported to land in January 2021.
