Tales of Xillia 2 has an interesting system not seen in previous games. Early in the game you get slapped with 20 million gald worth of debt. You must repay certain amounts to progress the story. When you aren't progressing the story, you can repay your debt to unlock other rewards, such as costumes or skills.

20 million is a lot and there are many things for you to unlock by paying certain amounts. There's even a special reward for paying it all off! I'm here to tell yo what those rewards are, and when you unlock them.

Although I have not paid off all the debt, I can tell you what you get for doing so. You'll get a secret ending that involves the cast going to some hot springs. The males members don't quite ge the same treatment as the females. Check out EmiruTheKnight's video below.

That's it for the debt repayment guide for Tales of Xillia 2. I'll update as I pay off more debt.  If you'd like to see more guides and tips, check out the guide directory.

The "Tales of" series keeps certain features in almost all of their games. Fell Arms, also known as Devil Arms or Cursed Weapons, is one of those features. Tales of Xillia 2 has them as well, though how you get them and unlock their power is different from most games.

The main character, Ludger, also uses 3 Fell Arms and he works differently from the rest of the party. I'll explain these differences and tell you how to get all the Fell Arms in the game.

For more guides and tips related to Tales of Xillia 2, please visit the guide directory.

This guide will cover everything on Fell Arms including:

  • Fell Arms Info - Explanation of what these cursed weapons are.
  • Unlocking Fell Arms - How to get them.
  • Ludger's Fell Arms - How to get each of Ludger's weapons.

Fell Arms Info

For those that don't know, these special weapons have the potential to be the best weapons in the game by far. Each kill you get increases the weapon's attack. This goes up until it reaches a max of 9999, far stronger than anything else in the game, even the Sealed Weapons.

These weapons are often called Cursed Weapons because they often have some sort of drawback. In Tales of Xillia 2, every member, except Ludger, takes more damage in battle when equipping a Fell Arm.

Every one of these weapons also starts with 765 attack power. The good news is that once you get them, they take into account all the battles you've had up to that point. You also don't need to unlock their power like in previous Tales games.

For example, I used Elize a lot during the game. When I unlocker her Fell Arm, I got a 900 attack power increase from my best weapon at the time.

Unlocking Fell Arms

You probably want to know how to unlock these weapons now, huh? Well, it is easier in this game, kinda.

  • Complete Tag Mode in the coliseum with every character on Advanced Rank.
  • Complete the main story of the game. After finishing the game and saving clear data, you'll get the chance to continue playing with a lot of extra stuff available without the need to do New Game +.
  • Complete the new Elite rank in tag mode with each character to unlock their Fell Arm.

As you can see, the concept is simple. Tag mode is difficult if you aren't leveled enough, or prepared, even on the easiest difficulty.

  • I suggest you at least be in your mid to late 80's before doing it.
  • Also, use Ludger every time. This makes unlocking everything slower, but his added Chromatus makes the fights much easier.
  • On the last fight, target the person with the lowest Max HP and focus on them until you defeat them. It is much easier than trying to take them both out equally.

Every weapon has the same stats and do the same things, except Ludger, but I'll explain him later. Below are the names of all the Fell Arms and who they belong to in Tales of Xillia 2.

Ludger Eurosyne, the Graceful (Dual Blades)
Aglaea, the Trampler (Sledgehammer)
Thalia, the Shrouded (Dual Pistols)
Jude Folzex, the Gridge-Bearer
Elize Tregatoria, the Bellowing Demon
Alvin Vicehein, the Howler
Millia Dranduo, the Howling Beast
Rowen Melandetra, the Deathbringer
Gaius Soul's Requiem
Muzet Clasp of Deliverance
Leia Padventm the Incantor

Ludger's Fell Arms

The first thing that makes Ludger stands out is how he makes his weapons stronger. They don't get stronger simply by killing enemies like everyone else. He has to kill enemies with linked artes to increase his weapons' powerHis weapons also do not increase the damage he takes in battle.

He gets his swords from completing Elite rank Tag mode like everyone else, but his Hammer and Pistols are a different matter.

  • You unlock his hammer by paying off 11 million gald of his 20 million debt.

After beating the game, you unlock an EX dungeon called Illusionary Darkness. You get a currency called Ancient Bells for completing tasks and defeating bosses in the dungeon.

  • You unlock his pistols by purchasing them with 30 ancient bells in the Illusionary Darkness dungeon.

This concludes the Fell Arms guide fo Tales of Xillia 2. If you'd like to see more guides, feel free to check out the guide directory.

Tales of Xillia 2 Guide: Ludger Allium Orbs https://www.gameskinny.com/dxvay/tales-of-xillia-2-guide-ludger-allium-orbs https://www.gameskinny.com/dxvay/tales-of-xillia-2-guide-ludger-allium-orbs Wed, 03 Sep 2014 06:17:10 -0400 Synzer

Tales of Xillia 2 uses a system called Allium Orbs to learn new artes and skills. There are 6 different elements each character can unlock artes and skill in.

Allium orbs are extractors that use the elemental ore you gain to unlock things from 1 or more elements.

You can have one that unlocks only Fire ore, or one that unlocks artes and skills from Fire, Wind, and Dark ore, for example. You'll only unlock from the element(s) the Allium orb your character has equipped extracts from.

The good thing is that you get elemental ore from every battle and can find them around the world. They are the large glowing orbs. All you have to do is change your Allium orb when you aren't in battle to unlock things from a different element.

There are many artes and skills to unlock for all 6 elements and you can only keep track of a few at a time. I'm here to save you time by letting you know which artes and skills you unlock from each element, and how many ore you need for them.

If you're looking for more guides related to Tales of Xillia 2, be sure to visit the guide directory.

Costumes have become a trend in the "Tales of" series and Tales of Xillia 2 keeps that trend going. Whether its full costumes, or multiple attachments, you'll have plenty to choose from in this game.

There are several ways you can unlock costumes and attachments and that's where I come in. I'll explain where to get everything and separate them into different categories. I'll even separate costumes from attachments, so you to easily tell the difference.

The sealed weapons are Tales of Xillia 2's strongest weapons, excluding Fell Arms, but you have to unseal them.

\n
    \n
  • After getting the sealed weapons, you must beat the Elite Rank of Tag Mode in the coliseum. You must complete the game to unlock this rank.
  • \n
  • Now you have to go to the weapon shop that just opened in Nala Lava Tubes.  The map on this slide shows the exact location. Take the Silea Tundra entrance to get there quicker.
  • \n
  • This unlocks the ability to craft the unsealed version using the Custom shop. You can go to any shop after initially unlocking this ability.
  • \n
  • Each weapon also costs 200,000 Gald to make.
  • \n
\n

Each character has 2 different sealed weapons. I'll tell you how to get them and the stats of each one. For other guides related to Tales of Xillia 2, check out the guide directory.

Tales of Xillia 2 has plenty to do, both before and after completing the game. It has a lot more than I thought it would, and there are plenty of guides I'm doing to help people complete everything.

These guides will cover everything from the rewards for various things such as, debt repayment and affinity, to unlocking all the costumes and special weapons in the game. Almost anything you can think of, I'll cover it!

Many of my guides are works in progress that I frequently update. Check back often to see any changes.

Reward Guides

There are many rewards in Tales of Xillia 2. Whether you're raising affinity with your party members, getting items from the Kitty Dispatch, or getting things for paying off your debt, you are rewarded for your time and effort.

Affinity Rewards

Tales of Xillia 2 has  a relationship system between Ludger and his party members, called affinity. He's the only one that gains affinity with them. There are 10 total levels, represented by hearts. Reaching certain levels unlocks rewards. There are also character side stories for each party member that give rewards upon completion.

Go to the full Affinity Rewards guide for full details.

Kitty Dispatch Rewards

There are 100 kitties to find in Tales of Xillia 2. After getting the first one, the Kitty dispatch system gets unlocked. This is an easy system that doesn't require much work on your part. It lets you send kitties to places you've visited and they bring back items. There are some items that you can only get through this system, so its worth it.

For more details on the system, and what you can unlock, visit the Kitty Dispatch guide.

Debt Repayment Rewards

The debt system can be a pain, but at least you eventually get rewards for your diligence. Several things including costumes, skills, and items come solely from paying off certain amount of debt.

There's also a secret after paying off all 20 million of your debt. What is it? Check out the full Debt Repayment guide to find out!

Unlockables Guides

What kind of "Tales of" game would it be without things to unlock? Don't worry, there's plenty in Tales of Xillia 2. Maybe you'd like to change your characters' costumes? Need to know what sealed weapons are in this game? Let's not forget the fell arms that have been a staple in nearly every "Tales of" game. Whichever you're looking for, I got you covered.

Costumes List

Costumes and attachments give players a chance to customize their characters however they want. There are a few in Tales of Xillia 2 and you get them in various ways. To find out about everything available in this game, please go to the Costumes List guide.

Sealed Weapons

Sealed weapons have caused confusion in this game. They are not the same thing as the traditional fell arms. They are weapons you get in the game and have to craft the "unsealed versions" after completing a few things. The requirements are monstrous and it be easier for you to see this by going to the Sealed Weapons guide.

Fell Arms

The infamous Fell Arms. Weapons of unbelievable power that grow with each kill. Yep, they're in the game as well. You get them differently than in most games and Ludger's work completely differently than his party members. For full details, visit the Fell Arms guide.

Allium Orbs Guides

Allium Orbs are Tales of Xillia 2's way to unlock most skills and artes. The concept is simple, equip an orb of a certain element, or multiple, gain elemental ore. After reaching certain points, you unlock artes and skills.

It's best to read by Allium orb guide for Ludger to get a full understanding.

If there are any other guides you want, please let me know in the comments. I will either make a new guide about it, or address it in an existing guide if possible.

You can find up to 100 cats, or kitties as they call them, in Tales of Xillia 2. The best part about them is getting items for little work! You can use a system in the game called Kitty Dispatch to send them out to places you've been. They come back with items and you don't need to go anywhere. You have to find a kitty in the location you want to use kitty dispatch in before it is available.

They mostly bring back materials used to make items and complete job requests, but they can also bring back weapons and attachments. You can only get these special items from Kitty Dispatch. I'll list every item you get from Kitty Dispatch and explain which are special items.

For other guides and tips related to Tales of Xillia 2, check out the guide directory.

This guide will cover everything on Kitty Dispatch including:

  • Towns - Each location's materials, kitties, and special items.

Tales of Xillia 2 Guide: Affinity Rewards https://www.gameskinny.com/7sw5p/tales-of-xillia-2-guide-affinity-rewards https://www.gameskinny.com/7sw5p/tales-of-xillia-2-guide-affinity-rewards Tue, 26 Aug 2014 06:50:09 -0400 Synzer

Tales of Xillia 2 has a relationship system called Affinity. The main character, Ludger, can raise affinity with all 8 of his party members. These levels go up to a maximum of 10, and gives rewards at certain levels. Each character also has their own side story, which unlocks rewards.

These rewards include costumes, weapon, artes, and more. I'll list the rewards of each character and how to get them. I'll also explain them when needed.

Keep in mind that the affinity system only applies to Ludger. The other party members don't get affinity with each other.

For other guides and tips for Tales of Xillia 2, check out the guide directory.

This guide is a work in progress. Getting each character to max affinity takes a long time, so I will constantly update this guide. Be sure to check back often because I'll update this guide every time I find a new reward.

This guide will cover the affinity level system including:

  • Affinity System - How to raise affinity with each character.
  • Character Stories - The rewards for each character and what they do.
  • Affinity Levels - Which levels give rewards for each character and what they are.

Affinity System

Before listing all the rewards, I figured it's a good idea to explain the affinity system and how to raise it with each character.

First, you can check your affinity with each character by opening the menu and checking the status of Ludger. Press "Square" in this screen to bring up each character's affinity level. The filled hearts are how many levels you have.

You raise affinity in 4 different ways:

  • Completing character side stories
  • Conversation choices
  • Friendship Potions
  • Linking with them in battle

The first two are somewhat limited because once you finish the story and each character's story, that's it.

Friendship potions are rewards for paying off certain amounts of debt. They give a big boost to Affinity so be sure to pay your debt whenever you can.

The last one can be done at any time.

  • Just bring members, if you have a choice, that you want to raise affinity with. Remember, you must have Ludger link with them.
  • Link with them during battle and their affinity will slowly increase.
  • Using Partner Mystic Arte as Ludger, when linked with them, will raise it more.

Note: All skills and artes are for Ludger.

Tales of Xillia 2 Confirmed for Western Release https://www.gameskinny.com/0r7df/tales-of-xillia-2-confirmed-for-western-release https://www.gameskinny.com/0r7df/tales-of-xillia-2-confirmed-for-western-release Mon, 08 Jul 2013 00:44:01 -0400 Ashley Shankle

As if Tales of Xillia's Western release and the confirmation of Tales of Symphonia Chronicles being in the works (and seeing an international release) wasn't good enough, Namco Bandai has gone ahead and blown the mines of worldwide Tales fans by confirming the localization of Tales of Xillia 2.

Namco Bandai confirmed with Gematsu that the game will be making its way to North America and Europe in 2014. The new was further confirmed on the official Facebook for the series via a post from a seemingly very excited Namco Bandai employee.

This isn't the only recent piece of good news for Tales fans. A dual-language option was confirmed for Tales of Symphonia Chronicles last week as well.

Tales of Xillia will be making its way to North America and Europe next month, on August 6th and 9th respectively.

Series producer Hideo Baba did say 2013 would be an exciting year for Western fans of the series, and so far that claim has been true. 2013 has had the largest concentration of Western Tales-related announcements so far, and we are only a bit over halfway through the year. Will there be more in store? Baba, don't let me down!

Tales of Series Hits the 15 Million Shipped Mark https://www.gameskinny.com/1gto2/tales-of-series-hits-the-15-million-shipped-mark https://www.gameskinny.com/1gto2/tales-of-series-hits-the-15-million-shipped-mark Thu, 06 Dec 2012 12:27:42 -0500 Ashley Shankle

The audience for the Tales of series is a bit niche these days, but that doesn't stop the games from selling. It's about time Namco Bandai see some big num -- oh.

Siliconera reports that the popular series has finally reached the 15 million shipped park, with the help of the recent sales of Tales of Xillia 2 in Japan. Xillia 2 contributed 420,000 units to the total.

The Tales of games were a big part of my adolescent years. Tales of Destiny, Eternia, and Phantasia made sure I had no friends and grew up to be a neckbeard (special props to Star Ocean 2 for cementing that fact). Every fan has a game from the series that really made it for them, and for me that game is Tales of Eternia.

We will be seeing the first Tales of Xillia in North America and Europe sometime in 2013. As always, support the series if you're a fan so we can see more of it localized in the future.
