Let’s Play Banner Saga! A Tale of TRPG Excellence

Every decision you make in travel, conversation and combat has a meaningful effect on the outcome as your story unfolds.

Banner saga is a game in which the choices you make change the outcome of the game. Stylized as a TRPG in the tradition of Final Fantasy Tactics, this game introduces an almost Oregon Trail-esque feel featuring rations, party morale, and legions of non-playable characters.

“Decisions have consequences; wise choices must be made when conversing with possible allies during intricately crafted dialogues. Turn-based strategy brings tactical challenge in hand-animated battle sequences. With visuals evocative of the golden age of animation, The Banner Saga brings skillfully crafted art, story and strategy to gamers waiting to re-experience classic adventures and tactics.”

Overall, the game is beautiful.

Each cutscene is hand-painted, and majestic in its frosty glory. The sun has stopped, some areas stuck in perpetual twilight. The races have lost track of the days, only guesstimating how long it has been since the sun stopped. And now, a strange threat lurks in the shadows — the Dredge! These evil, armored creatures have amassed in numbers not seen since the Great Wars of old. Will the population be prepared for the onslaught? Only we can decide. Join us in a fantastic Let’s Play series produced by the Clan EAT Casting Crew!

Episode One

In this first part of episode 1, Shaft runs through most of the mandatory tutorials in the game. We explain the battle system, set up our configurations (HARDEST!) and introduce viewers to the changing storyline.

In this final part of episode 1, we switch to the other side of the conintent to meet Rook and his lovely, fire-kissed archer of a daughter Alette. As we wrap up this episode, we see what happens when failure is inevitable!
