Umbric Blade of the Ash Legion. Zoroark, the Thief

Badass Charr thief without a trenchcoat and a Bolt. Yep, that's Zoroark.

Enter Zoroark, the Charr Ash Legion Thief. Zoroark was my third level 80 character in Guild Wars 2 and his character design was based off of the Pokemon, Zoroark. On launch day I snagged this name along with another Pokemon themed name. Attempting to stay true to Game Freak’s design, I matched his fur colors, features such as a mane, and physiology as closely as could be translated in to Guild Wars 2 using it’s fantastic character creation system.Zoroark

Designing and Picking armor.

I picked his armor very carefully. One of my main goals was avoiding the trenchcoats that Guild Wars 2 insists on medium armors wearing. Luckily, Charr have possibly the best looking medium chest piece, Tier 3 Cultural. It comes at a hefty price, but is totally worth it! The rest of the armor pieces were mix matched from various other armor sets including Whispers, Inquest, and Krytan Gem shop. Each piece was selectively picked to fit the looks of a high ranking infiltrator.

Legendary Sword, Bolt.

A feature piece of Zoroark is the Legendary sword, Bolt. This legendary was slowly completed over a period of three months. Any advice to others chasing a legendary? Take it easy, legendaries are going nowhere! Another item not commonly used is the Ascended Backpiece quiver. Zoroark does indeed participate in Shortbow skirmishes on occassion, so it’s not just for looks and is totally functional!

Charr and Fashion? Whodathunk.

Many people seem to think that Charr have quite possibly the worst armor choices in the game, and many times I am inclined to agree with them! However, Guild Wars 2 has many armor options available and with a little time spent, you can definitely come up with something unique and eyecatching for any character! Zoroark’s look may have taken me over 6 hours to complete and over 100 gold not even including the legendary weapon!

Equipment Pieces: These are the exact equipment pieces I am using to achieve this look.

  • Noble Mask (Head Armor): Obtained on the trading post or craftable.
  • Whisper’s Shoulderpads (Shoulder Armor): Part of the Whisper’s Order armor set.
  • Trapper Coat (Chest Armor): Tier 3 Cultural Chest piece found in Black Citadel. Charr only.

  • Inquest Greaves (Foot Armor): Obtained with tokens from completing Crucible of Eternity.
  • Quiver of Swiftness (Back Item): Created in the Mystic Forge.

Dyes Used: You’ll notice on the dye slots I’ve marked each slot with a specific color. All dyes are available on the Trading Post.

  • Points marked with Green are Mahogany.
  • Points marked with Light Blue are Charcoal.
  • Points marked with Red are Midnight Fire.

Thanks for taking the time to check out my Charr Thief. See you out there in Tyria!
