Cyberpunk 2077 Third Person Mod Gives PC Players a New Perspective

A new Cyberpunk 2077 third person mod paints V and Night City in a whole new light.

There’s a Cyberpunk 2077 third-person mod now in the wild thanks to modder Jelle Bakker. The PC-only mod is available on Nexus Mods and requires the Cyber Engine Tweaks mod to run. It lets players see their customized V in normal gameplay — instead of just on bikes — for better and worse. Currently, the models are just a tad bit janky.

The CP2077 third-person mod has four different camera angles, yet even with the bug fixes Cyber Engine Tweaks offers, problems with V’s character modeling still show up. In combat situations and under water, V is prone to looking a bit… off.

It’s not headless chicken V levels of jank, mercifully. However, players using Cyberpunk 2077‘s third person mod should expect some odd motions and discrepancy between movement speed and distance covered, as this overview video from Slothability shows.

Whether CD Projekt Red addresses these modeling issues in the two performance improvement patches between now and February remains to be seen, since Cyberpunk is ultimately designed for first-person gameplay.

Grab the Cyber Engine Tweaks mod from Tilted Phoques on Nexus Mods, and the third-person mod from Jelle Bakker if you want to see things from a different perspective.

After installing Cyber Engine Tweaks, here’s what to do next:

  • Open your “Games” directory and choose Cyberpunk 2077
  • Open the “bin” folder
  • Open “x64” folder
  • Drag the zip folder containing Cyber Engine Tweaks into the game’s x64 folder.

The next step is picking the male or female V perspective mod. Once the desired mod finishes installing, just drag that folder into the Cyber Engine Tweaks folder.
