Of course, there is a catch and not everybody can download the new DLC. If you want to know how to get this brand new content for Borderlands 2, then just…

… Own or Buy Borderlands 2

Well, this is a bit obvious.

In order to be eligible for the free download of the Commander Lilith DLC, you need to previously own Borderlands 2 or Borderlands: The Handsome Collection.

If you don’t own the game, but really want to try out the new DLC, then you can purchase the game on the official Borderlands 2 webpage or via your preferred retailer.

As you might expect Commander Lilith is only available on current-gen platforms, which means you must own Borderlands 2 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, or PC.

Download the DLC and Be the Level Requirement

You can download and install the DLC from the official Commander Lilith & The Fight for Sanctuary webpage for free. Click the ‘Claim your copy here’ link over there to choose your platform and go through the motions.

In order to access the new content, you need to make sure that you have a Vault Hunter that is at least Level 30.

If you have a Vault Hunter at 30, you can use any fast travel point to teleport them to the the Fight For Sanctuary location.

It is also advisable to complete the Borderlands 2 main campaign, since the Commander Lilith DLC includes a lot of spoilers from the original story. On top of that, you will gain access to new items, such as:

  • Effervescent weapons
  • New skins for Vault Hunters
  • New skins for vehicles
  • Infected enemies and a new Raid Boss
  • Increased level cap up to 80

Hopefully, you’ve been able to start the new DLC without any hiccups, and be sure to come back soon for more Borderlands 2 guides and Borderlands 3 news here at GameSkinny!
