If you are reading this then the odds are that you already play the game. Just in case you stumbled upon this article randomly and do not already play, I recommend you to pick up the game. It costs you nothing after the original purchase, and of course your monthly internet bill. No monthly access fees, no lock-outs on gameplay, and best of all no restrictions on levels or gear!

Is there a tool problem?

Now that you are enjoying the brilliant world of Tyria, you have probably harvested a few trees. Wait, whats this? The tree just broke your axe!? No problem here ladies and gents because today I introduce to you the amazing Chop-It-All Logging Axe. This magnificent piece of technology never dulls or breaks, and remains forever sharp enough to shave a Charr’s back. Yes, I went there.

A purchase made in Heaven

A few nights ago I was participating in a guild event. We were completing daily quests, and one of the objectives was to gather a certain amount of resources. Right at the first tree my axe broke, and I cried a little. I raged in the guild Mumble server. My rage was met by hearty Norn laughter, and I decided to never let this happen again! My tiny Asura is now weilding the awesome might of the Chop-It-All Logging Axe. Just look at this thing. It has lightning!

A quality product

The Chop-It-All axe is equivalent to an Orichalcum Logging Axe, which is the best tool available to harvest trees with. Effectively this makes the Chop-It-All an unlimited use version of the best quality logging axe in the game. Did I mention it has lightning?! The Orichalcum version costs four silver coins for 100 uses. If you purchase the Chop-It-All every swing from there on out is free.

The gem store

Tools like this don’t come around everyday, in fact they are a dwindling resource. This axe is listed for 800 gems on the in-game marketplace, for a limited time. Gems are an item that is bought for real money, but do not fret kind sir. You can also purchase gems for gold, which is earned by completing quests, looting fallen enemies, and selling items to other players through the Trading Post (auction house). This means you do not have to spend real money to buy gems! The gem price fluctuates daily with supply and demand similar to the real world stock market. If you play the market correctly you could earn limitless gold by buying and selling gems.

Best Value

The in-game gem store offers several options for purchasing gems with real money if you desire. The options as of this writing are:

  • 800 gems for $10.00
  • 1600 gems for $20.00
  • 2800 gems for $35.00
  • 4000 gems for $50.00
  • 8000 gems for $100.00

In case you do not want to do the math for these, the best value is – drum roll please – any of them! Every single one of these gives you 80 gems per dollar. So, what this means is if you want to purchase the Chop-It-All you will be paying $10 for it. For a game with no fees, or restrictions otherwise, this is a steal.
