Xbox One XBLA Games Will Feature 1000 Gamerscore

Xbox One digital games will have more Gamerscore than Xbox 360.

If the underwater Xbox One marketing doesn't persuade you to go next-gen, (I'm assuming it doesn't), then maybe an increased Gamerscore will.

If you are a fan of getting as many achievement points as you can, then you're in luck. Xbox 360 and Xbox one achievements for Halo: Spartan Assault have been released and the Xbox One has additional achievements. On top of that, the Xbox One version gives more points for its achievements than its Xbox 360 counterpart. The Halo Waypoint website has the full list of achievements and the Gamerscore each gives.

The current maximum for Xbox Live Arcade games is 400g. The Xbox One will have 1000g, the maximum for retail games. The extra 600g can add up quickly if you play a lot of XBLA games.

It may seem small, but some gamers may upgrade just for this. Those on the fence that may have questioned purchasing an Xbox One, especially after news of the Xbox One backwards compatibility problems, might get it for the increased Gamerscore.

This furthers Microsoft's goal to stop the distinction between retail and digital games by putting them in a single marketplace. Now that they will also have the same Gamerscore, they will be even more equal. Xbox One launches on November 22.

What do you think of the increased Gamerscore for Xbox One digital games? Discuss whether it matters or not in the comments.

Just a typical gamer trying to get by. I love video games and hope to be a Writer for a video game company, or make a living as a Video Game Journalist. Story is my passion though, and I love to create fun, unique stories. The sci-fi/fantasy genre is my specialty.

It is, indeed, a good move by Microsoft. Yet, as I see that was already mentioned, there are achievements for everything there, which sort of takes away the "fun" on getting them, plus...all of those achievements that aren't from games, are aimed at US market only, so the more they do, the more noticeable is that they only care about the US market...

I am not a G hunter, but I am tempted to both revisit 360 titles, and push my play beyond the norm with the Xbox One.

Xbox One + Dr Who = One heck of a weekend!

Yeah, I think it was a good move by Microsoft to encourage Xbox One titles over 360. Even if you can play both, you can get more achievements/points from the Xbox One version.

I personally wouldn't get an Xbox One just for this, but if I had one, I'd certainly think about getting the One versions over the 360.

Great thing about having a circle of friends who share titles, we can double dip on games. For example - AC4, I'll be replaying it on Xbox One :)

XBLA titles, no so much double dipping :( Unless I sneak round while they are at work, download my GT and play? Yes, yes - Great idea, Synzer!

I think it's funny that Xbox One is also giving you achievements outside of games for doing stuff like watching an ad or movie... it's basically a tool for them to collect marketing data on you disguised as a "feature".

That explains the achievements that you get for basically starting a game up. Crafty Microsoft...

There are people who make money off of the G, Youtubers etc So I am fine with it as it makes the world go round.

I am liking the look of the challenges too, do set actions within a set time frame. Makes for a deeper experience for those G hunters.
