The new Cyberpunk 2077 trailer debuted during today’s episode of Night City Wire. There’s a ton to unpack from it, including fellow gang members, missions, and Night City’s seedy underside.
The Cyberpunk 2077 Gig trailer shows off Night City’s criminal elements and introduces the core group’s motivations. They’re on a high-risk, high-reward mission with the goal of stealing a new piece of technology that’s the gateway to eternal life.
It’s all high-octane action — and it’s all just the beginning. Everything unfolding here is just the first few quests in the prologue. To spice things up even more, a “beautiful” Keanu makes a short appearance as well.
CD Projekt Red’s Pawel Sasko explained more of what was going on. Your goal is carrying on the mission of a gang formed in 2076 called The Moxies. Their leader is a former sex worker determined to protect the city’s working-class and those down on their luck, which is somehow where you step in.
Sasko also touched on the game’s seventh district, the Badlands. It’s an open-world region you’ll need to traverse using your fully customizable and very fast car. It’s got a lot of Mad Max vibes.
Then there are a few other important characters mentioned — Adam Smasher, a fully automated monster loyal to his corporate overlords, and the Ripper Docs, the folks responsible for upgrading your body. We’ve seen Ripper Docs before, but this time, the devs mentioned you’ll actually form relationships with them throughout the game.
Night City Wire showed us so much more, including the first big look at braindancing and a brand-new Cyberpunk 2077-inspired anime. Stay tuned to GameSkinny for more Cyberpunk 2077 news as it develops.
