Female player to feature on FIFA 16 box art

EA and female players are going balls to the wall for their FIFA 16 box art, but only in Australia

Earlier this year EA announced that FIFA 16 would feature female national teams and players for the first time to a strangely mixed response. Most civilised people were pleased but the bigoted minority screamed in protest louder than most.

It has now come to light that on top of this, Austrailian player Steph Catley will join Argentinian box art regular Lionel Messi on the Australian cover for FIFA 16.

This is another positive move for FIFA, it is also excellent to see that even after the criticism that they received for their progressive move, EA have not bowed to the pressure of vocal sexists, but rather continue to push the game forward.

EA held votes in some regions for gamers to decide which of their own national players would feature. All the Australian options were women and Steph Catley won the honor of representing female players worldwide.

FIFA 16 will be released on September 22nd for current and last-gen Sony and Microsoft systems as well as on the PC.
