Honkai Star Rail Version 1.1 Adds New Characters and Events

More characters and more limited-time events will be added in Honkai Star Rail's first big update.

It’s been a little over a month since Honkai Star Rail launched. These first few weeks have kept players busy with all the content included in the base version as well as the first event being added with the Boulder Town Super League. Just like any other gacha game, though, it’s time to look ahead to what’s coming next. A recent livestream revealed a lot about the upcoming Honkai Star Rail Version 1.1 “Galactic Roaming” update, which will launch on June 7.

Honkai Star Rail Version 1.1 Events

Plenty of events will be added in the new version of HSR, including companion missions, double-drop events for Calyx challenges, and a login event that will reward up to 10 Star Rail Special Passes.

What’s more exciting is the limited-time events. One is the Starhunt Game, which sees you trying to uncover secrets left behind by Silver Wolf on Herta Space Station. On top of the usual rewards, special graffiti designs are available to collect and display like tags. Collecting all of them will also unlock the 4-Star Light Cone “Before the Tutorial Mission Starts.” This event will launch with the update and end on June 19.

Another limited-time event called Everwinter City Museum Ledger of Curiosities is based on the soon-to-be-re-opened Belobog History and Culture Museum. Some exhibits are disappearing, however, so you’ll need to work with Pela to get to the bottom of it all. The museum itself and a mode to manage it will be permanently added, but it’s only during the event period (June 9 – June 26) that there will be limited rewards.

Other timed events are Lab Assistants in Position and Stellar Flare. The former requires monster materials to be farmed, while the latter is similar to Forgotten Hall with specific themes and mechanisms.

Version 1.1 Characters and Light Cones

Unlike the usual addition of two characters that we’ve come to expect from Genshin Impact and will likely see in the future for this title, Version 1.1 is set to add three new characters and two new Light Cones across two phases. All three will likely seem familiar since they’ve been introduced before and are on our list of upcoming characters in Honkai Star Rail.

Phase 1

The first phase will run from the update’s launch until June 28. The first character event banner is called Contact Zero and focuses on the 5-star Silver Wolf, whom you’ll remember from the tutorial segment. She’s a Quantum type on the Nihility Path. Accompanying her with drop-rate boosts are Dan Heng, Asta, and Serval.

A Light Cone banner will run at the same time. The headlining 5-star cone is called Incessant Rain, and it’s themed around Silver Wolf and fitting her debuff playstyle.

Phase 2

Immediately following up is Phase 2, which will end on July 18. Luocha is the 5-star character headlining the Laic Pursuit banner. This Imaginary type is on the Abundance path, and some have likely already played with him a little on certain missions aboard the Xianzhou Luofu.

Along with Pela and Qingque, Yukong will also be made playable starting with this banner. She’s a 4-star Imaginary type on the Harmony path, but players shouldn’t fret if they can’t roll her — version 1.2 will have an in-game event that rewards her for free.

Similarly, the light cone banner running at the same time features a 5-Star light cone that’s perfect for the supportive Luocha. It’s called Echoes of the Coffin.

HSR 1.1 System Updates

Rounding it all out will be some quality-of-life updates. Similar to Genshin Impact, Honkai Star Rail will allow you to teleport directly to enemies that drop specific materials. Sequence Trotters, which were previously encountered in set places, are set to appear randomly in battles. Finally, friends won’t be limited to just support for some challenges, as a friend chat function is also being added.
