The BioShock series of first-person shooters are set to get a current-gen remaster, dubbed BioShock: The Collection, if recent rumours are to be believed.
A recent teaser on Twitter seems to suggest BioShock: The Collection is real and that publisher 2K plan to officially unveil the game soon. Here’s the tweet in question:
Rumours originally sparked around South African retailer Raru’s online listing for a game titled “The BioShock Collection”, set to release for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The game’s apparent release date of November 27, 2015 has since passed, suggesting it was possibly just a placeholder and that the listing was not intended to go live. The supposed current-gen remaster will presumably include all three last-gen BioShock titles: BioShock, BioShock 2 and BioShock Infinite, remastered for current-gen consoles.
Rumours solidified, however, as the Brazil Advisory Ratings Board rated the unannounced game M for Mature, stating it to be releasing for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, in addition to their current-gen counterparts.
While the latest title in the critically-acclaimed series, BioShock Infinite, was released only three years ago, fans will surely appreciate remastered versions of all three games in one awesome collection.
We’ve reached out to 2K UK and will update this article should we hear back.
