Monster Hunter Generations: New trailer and demo details revealed

New monsters to smash and a whole new evolution of some fan favorites

Capcom released a new cinematic trailer as well as more details about their upcoming 3DS game, Monster Hunter Generations, at E3 this week. Among the announcements was the release of a downloadable demo coming soon for all 3DS players. Although most of us will be able to download the demo on June 30th, some fans will start receiving early access codes for the demo this week.

The demo will feature multiplayer and have three monsters for players to hunt. The monsters include a newcomer named the Great Maccao. After delivering a beating to this poor creature, players will then face off against another new monster — Malfestio. This one looks a bit like a giant owl. The third and toughest monster is an old fan favorite — Nargacuga.

Some monsters from previous games will make an appearance in Monster Hunter Generations, but they aren’t the same old baddies we’ve fought in the past. These are the creatures that somehow survived our raucous beatings in the past and have now evolved to become the most dangerous monsters ever. They are called Deviant monsters — and they came to chew bubblegum and kick ass, but they’re all out of gum.

At least two of the new creatures have been revealed. They are the Dreadking Rathalos and the Thunderlord Zinogre. These will be some of the toughest creatures players will face in the game, but they will also be the most rewarding. Parts from these baddies will be used in crafting some of the most awesome gear in the game, so the reward should be worth the risk.

Monster Hunter Generations releases on July 15th. Look for the demo on June 30th, then sharpen those Gunlances and get ready for monster smashing fun for the whole family.
