Some have recently said that Nintendo is in trouble since the Wii U is not selling well and there is a lack of first-party content available. However, those critics are forgetting one, extremely important thing. The 3DS and 2DS are selling like hotcakes.

Today, the numbers of how many consoles were sold in October of this year have been released and it looks like Nintendo is doing very well. According to the numbers, the 3DS and 2DS together sold 452,000 units. The next highest selling console was the Xbox 360 which sold 166,000. It will be interesting to see the numbers for November and December as both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One release.

It is not surprising, however, that the 3DS and the 2DS are doing so well since Nintendo is doing a great job at providing quality games for the systems. Great downloadable games like SteamWorld Dig are being received well and let’s not forget the recent releases of Pokemon X and Y, and the ever popular Animal Crossing: New Leaf. So, Congrats Nintendo! Hopefully, we will see an even brighter future for you!
