Nintendo Switch battery life isn't long enough for you? This might just make your day!

Nintendo Switch May Have Prolonged Battery Life in the Near Future

Nintendo Switch battery life isn't long enough for you? This might just make your day!
This article is over 7 years old and may contain outdated information

In the short time that it’s been out, the Nintendo Switch has gained a lot of popularity. Some of it good, like how much fun new games like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is; and some of it is bad, like the short time it takes for the battery life to run out (between 3 and 6 hours depending on a few factors).

What People Are Saying

It seems that many people agree that something needs to be done about how long the Switch lasts, and the amount of time that it takes to charge the Switch itself (about 3 hours).

Something that could be of concern to Switch players is taking the Nintendo Switch out to play in public. A limited battery life would mean limited play, which some would say contradicts the idea of making it a mobile game device.

The feelings of battery life have even sparked a few jokes condemning the Nintendo Switch.

The only question left is this: Is there a solution to this problem? And, of course, there is.

The Solution

On April 5, 2017 a Kickstarter campaign on Indiegogo came about to solve this problem.

Enter: SwitchCharge

This new product promises that it will create a charger for the Nintendo Switch that will last up to 12 hours. It also promises to solve the pesky problem of not being able to charge while playing in kickstand ‘mode’.

But what’s interesting about this particular Kickstarter is that it’s a product that people want. So much so, that the entire campaign was funded within two days of being posted online.

The company responsible for this revolution: InDemand Design.

But Can They Deliver?

This is the big question. Not all Kickstarter campaigns are able to produce what they promise. However, there is high hope that the SwitchCharge will be successful. Otherwise, people would not have invested in it. The demand for a product like the SwitchCharge is so high that people took to Twitter to promote the campaign. Clearly, it was successful.

I Guess We’ll See

Only time can tell if the SwitchCharge will become a reality. In the meantime, we’ll just have to wait and see.

Will you buy the SwitchCharge when it becomes available, or do you doubt its success?
