Cozy simulation MMO Palia is getting a PC beta this summer. The news was announced by developer Singularity 6 alongside a new trailer. The closed beta period will begin on August 2, 2023, with an open beta for all players starting on August 10. There will also be a Stress Test on July 25.
Palia Open and Closed Betas: How to Sign Up
Registration for the Palia betas is open on the website, with no invite needed. Here’s how to sign up:
- Go to the website above and enter your information to create an account.
- You don’t have to enter a referral code; it’s optional.
- Tick the box at the bottom of the page to agree to the Terms of Service.
- Click Submit.
- You’ll receive a verification email. Click “Verify” in the email.
- You’ll be notified if you’re chosen for the closed beta period.

How Will Palia Closed Beta and Stress Test Participants Be Chosen?
According to Singularity 6, closed beta and stress test participants will be selected “on a rolling basis,” and those with accounts will “have the opportunity to participate in the Stress Test…”
Closed Beta access will be granted to registered account holders on a rolling basis beginning August 2 before the Open Beta releases on August 10, and will maintain their account progress through Palia’s Closed Beta, Open Beta, and beyond. Players that sign up now could also have the opportunity to participate in a Stress Test scheduled for July 25.

While it’s not crystal clear how players will access the Stress Test and betas, there’s an option to “download game” in the Palia website client.
Does Beta Progress Carryover to Full Release?
Progress made during the Palia beta stages will carryover to full release, so don’t worry if you spend tons of time making your home look just right or hunting for that last fish you need to collect.

Palia is a relaxing simulation game with a focus on community. Set in a peaceful fantasy world, you’ll get to build your own home and farm while completing a variety of quests for the NPCs. You start out with a blank piece of land, and from there, the design of your homestead is up to you. You can customize your house, garden, and character how you please with a myriad of options.
The trailer shows off many of the game’s activities. You can go fishing, grow crops, hunt animals, catch fireflies, hang glide off cliffsides, and more. All this is set to a relaxing, fantasy melody. Throughout all the quests and tasks, you can play with friends or join others as they adventure in the same area.
