Spring Update 0.179 Brings More Flowers, and Quality of Life Fixes to Palia

There are so many fun things included in this update, but the completely new aspects include the new flowers seeds you can get from bugs in Bahari Bay. There are 10 varieties, each dropping from a different insect.

Speaking of bug catching, all worms, smoke bombs, and arrows will leave your inventory after finding a home in the new Ammo Pack. The pack will automatically be added to your character when you log in, but only one row will be available. Similar to the backpack, you can unlock more rows at the General Store. This has been a frequently asked for feature and helps with inventory management issues you may run into.

Along with the flower seeds in Bahari Bay, you can possibly get Cyl the Green Plush from the area’s rummage piles. Cyl was created thanks to a popular bug the community enjoyed. Now you’ll be able to collect as many of him as you want.

Another Bahari Bay addition is a Tailor Shop Changing Room. It’s located at the Central Stable fast travel point and can be used at any time to switch up your attire. This includes the three new sets released during this update: Shadowstalker, Corseted Capelet, and Harness Your Power. Shadowstalker is a ninja-inspired piece that comes with its own idle and running special effects. Three more sets are planned to debut on May 9: Aristocrat, Promising Painter, and Wrapped in Bows.

There’s more to experience than just new items, though. Friendship Level 5 has been unlocked for Ashura, Zeki, Trish, and Reth. Due to this the experience you get from their Level 4 quests was tweaked, but you’ll be able to continue their stories. I can’t wait to learn more about Reth. Now where’s that Romance Level 5, eh?

A new building addition was added to City Hall. The Courtyard is an outdoor space, but needs other rooms to be built. There are four different ways you can have it, with stairs or without. The central space is open and can be decorated as you wish.

Quality of Life Changes in Update 0.179

While the QoL changes aren’t as large in number as new items, they are still important. I think the best one of the update is that elemental temples will now have their own maps. This is great since trying to navigate the various areas, especially the Temple of Gales, can be quite confusing.

The regular maps received an update, as well. Now Kilima Valley and Bahari Bay will be easier to navigate and give directions to specific locations with the new grids.

Along with these issues, the menu now has an Unstuck button. Previously, Nintendo Switch players couldn’t get themselves out of being frozen or wedged into a small space due to not easily being able to type in chat. With a button right in the main menu, anyone can easily get themselves unstuck when cooking.

Maps & World

  • Fixed some inconsistencies with fishable water in the Bahari Bay Statue Garden river area.

New to 0.179

  • [PC Only] The buttons for the Worktable and Campfire may appear off-center.
  • When purchasing the ammo pouch, the message that shows you’ve unlocked it may appear repeatedly. This can be resolved by restarting the game.
  • The idle effect for the Hi-tech Conjuror outfit has been temporarily modified as a workaround due to a bug. It will be fixed in the future.

Other Issues

  • Players will frequently get stuck while cooking (especially at the Oven).
  • [Switch Only] Players may sometimes freeze and/or crash while near Tamala’s House in Bahari Bay.
  • Planted Trees may appear on different housing plots after they have grown.
  • Players may occasionally be unable to connect to the game, with the message, “Unable to connect. Beacon client failed to connect.”

Those are the largest points in this patch. For the full details, such as Palia Coin cost of outfits, check out the official patch notes for the update. For more on Palia, like how to get Kilima Valley flower seeds or where to find rummage piles, head to our Palia guide hub.
