Sony’s State of Play is getting one last episode in 2019, according to Sony Interactive Entertainment Senior Director Sid Shuman.

2019’s last State of Play will air on December 10 at 6 a.m. PST/9 a.m. EST. The Nintendo Direct style presentation is set to feature roughly 20 minutes of new game announcements, new footage from announced games, new information about Sony Worldwide Studios, “and more.”

Don’t expect any PlayStation 5 news, though, since that’s firmly locked away until next year.

State of Play has been a bit spotty this year, with episodes of various length and quality. But State of Play has also been Sony’s vehicle for dropping bombshell news. Sony did, after all, show off Final Fantasy VII Remake for the first time during State of Play. They also announced The Last of Us Part II‘s release date during a similar presentation.

One of the announcements for the final State of Play might just be Resident Evil 3: Nemesis Remake. We already know the RE3 remake is waiting for us in the darkness, but Geoff Keighley said it won’t feature during The Game Awards 2019.

If the game is on track for a 2020 release date as we’ve been told, then the last State of Play would be a good time to make its existence formal.

One thing we do know is there won’t be any Vita news or announcements about handhelds, because Sony has officially moved out of the handheld business.

Either way, we’ll be covering all of the new State of Play announcements, so stay tuned to GameSkinny for more PlayStation news.
