Tekken 8 Lars Alexandersson Gameplay Trailer Showcases “Shocking” Moves

The king of lightning fist Lars Alexandersson shows off his new drip in this latest Tekken 8 trailer.

Tekken 8‘s Lars Alexandersson is the subject of Bandai Namco’s most recent gameplay trailer for the upcoming fighting game. The developer has been steadily introducing veteran characters for the Tekken 8 roster, with reveals for King and Marshall Law, among others.

The next combatant unveiled is Lars Alexandersson. A newcomer in Tekken 6, Lars quickly grew in popularity and is now considered a mainstay. While his initial design was a bit ridiculous, his new look and style make him practically brand new here.

Most of Lars’ gameplan in Tekken 8 remains the same from previous entries, but there are some new flourishes added to his Tekken 8 moveset. Lars has more teleportation attacks now and his critical art is notably different from the one in Tekken 7. He almost looks to be utilizing the Devil Gene ability, which might be surprising for some folks.

Lars’ backstory is that he is the illegitimate son of Heihachi Mishima that was born from an experiment to see if he could successfully pass on the Devil Gene. Meant to be utilized as an assassin of sorts, Lars eventually broke free from Heihachi’s control and started to walk a more righteous path.

Interestingly, this trailer also marks the first appearance of Jack-8 in a Tekken 8 trailer. It was a foregone conclusion that Jack would be playable, but it’s nice to see his gameplay here. Lars mops the floor with him, but don’t expect Jack players to be pushovers.

Tekken 8 will be available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S when it releases. Bandai Namco has not shared a definitive release date yet, with many speculating it will arrive sometime in late 2023 or sometime in 2024.
