Tekken 8 Roster Leak Potentially Reveals Unannounced Characters

Modders have found evidence pointing to six more characters coming to Tekken 8.

The Tekken 8 roster leak has allegedly revealed the names of six unannounced characters. They were found within the files of the current Tekken 8 Closed Network Test (CNT) beta. With the CNT entering its second period and expanding to PC, it should come as no surprise that fans have taken to using some modding tools to dive deep into the files for any potential clues. Thanks to recent efforts using a cheat engine, we might know of six more characters returning to the iron fist tournament. But it could also just be a big ol’ grain of salt.

Tekken 8 Roster Leak Potentially Reveals Unannounced Characters

A string of character names was discovered by modders using a cheat engine, with the following six standing out for not being officially announced yet:

  • Yoshimitsu
  • Shaheen
  • Raven
  • Zafina
  • Steve
  • Alisa

All of the characters announced so far have been returning from previous games, and this Tekken 8 roster leak allegedly points to those unannounced characters falling in that same category. Shaheen will join the likes of Claudio and Leeroy by returning after their debut in Tekken 7. His inclusion is exciting, although it’s also brought hope that more popular characters from that entry will make it to Tekken 8, such as Lidia or Fahkumram.

Fans have also noticed that the distinct use of “Raven” could signify that the original character to use the name will be coming back. He was missing in the previous game, with a new character called “Master Raven” taking his spot in the roster and using his moveset.

The rest are more or less expected. Zafina and Alisa were popular characters in Tekken 6, Steve has been a mainstay since Tekken 4, and Yoshimitsu is one of the few who’s appeared in every entry.

This Tekken 8 roster leak still isn’t hard confirmation of anything, though. Developers adding hints to throw people off isn’t unexpected, but then again, nobody would bat an eye at seeing these six characters come back. It’s also possible these names are just in the game as placeholders — or for any other number of reasons. We’ll be keeping an eye out and will post as soon as these or any other characters are officially announced. Until then, take this with a grain of salt.
