The Miasma Closes in: Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Delayed

Square Enix wants to make the game the best it can be, so Crystal Chronicles Remastered gets a new release window.

Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles Remastered has been delayed. Originally, the remaster was set for a January 23, 2020 launch, though the RPG has now been moved back to sometime in summer 2020.

The news comes via the official Final Fantasy Twitter account, and Square Enix said the reason is so the development team can make this the best experience possible.

However, when Crystal Chronicles does launch, it will still be a simultaneous release for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, iOS, and Android, featuring cross play and cross save support. It’s not certain whether this functionality is partly behind the delay, since other developers have commented on the challenge of console-to-mobile cross play before.

There’s no word on an Xbox One release for Crystal Chronicles, which is slightly odd seeing as practically every other Final Fantasy game is heading to the system in the next few months.
