The limited physical edition will be released for both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on March 7. The digital version of the fighter was released for PlayStation 4 following the PlayStation Experience.  The title will also be available digitally for Xbox One and Steam in March.

The game’s physical release will retail for $29.99 and includes a collector’s comic. The new comic and new box art will be provided by Marvel artists Sean Chen and Gerardo Sandoval.

Marvel vs. Capcom 3 was originally released in 2011 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Since its release, the title has gained the attention of the eSports community — seeing back to back showings at EVO and other events. In more recent years, its competition support has declined, but this is due in part to the shift toward new consoles and the lack of a sequel to compensate.

However it was announced that a true sequel, Marvel vs Capcom Infinite, will be released in 2017. Then Capcom made the previous title available on current consoles to generate new popularity for the series.

Fighting game fans can acquire themselves a retail version of Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 in March.
