Antsy over the Xbox One’s licensing policies and the ability to be free to do what you want with the games you own? If you’ve been wondering about the PlayStation 4’s policies on used games and rentals, worry not! Sony confirmed during their press conference they would not be restricting used games in any way, and that the console would not require any internet connection to function.
While the above news is great, there is some bad news to go with your cheer: Playing games online on the PS4 will now require a PlayStation Plus membership.
Do the console’s more lax DRM methods make up for the new online paywall? This is a big change and is one that was rumored, but is nonetheless a bit disappointing.
Let us know how you feel about how you feel about these announcements below! This is exciting news, but a bit of a double-edged sword for longtime PS3 users used to free online play.
