Teamfight Tactics is the League of Legends version of Auto Chess, a strategic game revolving around the champions of League of Legends. Facing off against seven opponents, the goal is to be the last player standing.

Each round starts off with players using gold to hire League Champions. They can then combine three of the same champion to form a super champion, as well as three of the same super champion to form an ultimate champion. Champions with the same origins or classes can unlock trait bonuses when put together on a team.

Once a team is ready, the battle will begin. Each turn, players will decide where to move their champions, what spells or attacks to use, and what the best way to defeat the enemy is. Wise placement of champions is key to creating effective team compositions.

When a round is won, gold with be awarded, which can be spent for future rounds.

Riot says that Special Events will occur as well. Only certain champions will be able to be selected in these events. Players will select their team in reverse order of their standing, giving underdogs more equal footing.

Little Legends

A new game mode is not the only thing coming to the world of League of Legends. Unlockable after the first few games of Teamfight Tactics, Little Legends will be players’ avatars in the game. Players can only unlock one Legend for free, with additional ones costing 750 RP.

The six species featured above will be available at launch, with more species and skins coming in later patches. On top of that, Rare LL Eggs can be purchased for 450 RP and include rare variants of the above species.

Just like Teamfight Tactics Champions, if players have a variant already and hatch another, it will level up the Legend. If players level up a Little Legend to Level 3, it will no longer drop from Rare LL Eggs.

Little Legends will also be appearing in Howling Abyss, cheering on player’s ARAM skills from the sidelines.

A new Auto Chess, separate from Dota 2 Auto Chess, was revealed to be in development during the PC Gaming Show at E3 2019.
