Rare is a company famous for some of its games in the past. Perfect Dark, Banjo Kazooie, Viva Pinata, and others have given millions unforgettable childhood memories. One of the games from Rare that gave more than a few pleasant memories for yours truly was the fighting title Killer Instinct.
With E3 2013, Microsoft and Rare have announced an upcoming reboot of the series, available exclusively on Xbox One. E3 gives a short demo of gameplay from the upcoming game, showing off two characters in actual gameplay. While actual information on the title is limited, it is difficult not to get excited about such an excellent game being brought back to light.
The competitive fighting game scene has gained a lot of ground lately, with tournaments able to host over half a dozen games in the current generation and finding a full roster for all of them. Whether Killer Instinct will find itself squeezing into those already-busy rosters with its Xbox One exclusive status remains to be seen.
