Rayman Legends Coming to PC

Ubisoft has announced a PC version of Rayman Legends to be released alongside the previously announced home console and PS Vita versions

Ubisoft has just confirmed a PC version of Rayman Legends will be released along side the previously announced Wii U, Xbox 360, PS3 and PS Vita versions in August. Rayman Legends for PC is being developed by Ubisoft Chengdu in China in collaboration with Ubisoft Montpellier.

Rayman Legends, initially announced as a Wii U exclusive, was supposed to be released in February 2013–but was delayed to August to feature a simultaneous release on the Xbox 360, PS3, PS Vita and now PC as well. As an added bonus, you get 40 new Rayman Origins levels as a bonus as well.

The reason behind Rayman Legends’ conversion to a multi platform title and not a Wii U exclusive, Ubisoft revealed, is the inability of ZombiU to reap any sorts of profits from the Wii U.

Rayman creator and Beyond Good & Evil designer Michel Ancel also revealed plans to port Rayman Legends’ two screen Wii U gameplay to Xbox 360, along with Xbox Smartglass but deemed it impossible given that Microsoft’s Xbox Smartglass system is not responsive enough for the game. He also criticised Nintendo’s approach to stylus-reliant touch screens and not using the more modern finger-friendly tech found on most smartphones and tablets.

Rayman Legends hits the shelves on August 30 in the UK and September 3 in the US for Wii U, Xbox 360, PS3, PS Vita, and PC.
