Back 4 Blood has similar gameplay to Left 4 Dead, where a group of players takes on a horde of zombies, using a slew of main and sidearm weapons. This guide will provide you with a tier list of the best weapons in Back 4 Blood open beta.

Back 4 Blood S-Tier Weapons

Phoenix 350L

  • Type: Sniper Rifle
  • DPS: 125

Phoenix isn’t just the best sniper rifle in the game, it’s the best weapon overall. It may not have the highest damage output, but due to its high accuracy and handling, the bullets can easily penetrate any target and deliver quick and satisfying kills.

AK47

  • Type: Assault Rifle
  • DPS: 85

The best automatic weapon in the game is Kalashnikov. In terms of damage it loses a bit to SCAR, but when it comes to recoil control it is a much better weapon to have since the bullet spread isn’t as wide either.

A-Tier Weapons

M1A

  • Type: Sniper Rifle
  • DPS: 98

Among all sniper rifles in the game, including Phoenix, this one has the fastest firing rate and the largest magazine, which is what sniper users really wish for. The downside is its damage could be higher, as well as its rate of penetration.

RPK

  • Type: LMG
  • DPS: 90

The best light machine gun in the game is RPK, which has the highest damage, rate of penetration, and range. Unfortunately, it suffers from heavy recoil and wide bullet spread. Keep this weapon for close range combat only.

M249

  • Type: LMG
  • DPS: 88

M249 is a total opposite of the RPK light machine gun. It has lower damage, penetration, and range, but its firerate and accuracy are the highest. It also has the highest magazine capacity and lighter recoil, which makes it great for midrange combat.

SCAR

  • Type: Assault Rifle
  • DPS: 87

This is the main competitor of AK47 that has a higher damage output and rate of penetration, but its recoil and wide bullet spray makes it harder to use in a long range. If you’re looking for a weapon that can pierce through multiple targets and deliver kills on all of them with a single shot, then SCAR is a better weapon.

UMP45

  • Type: SMG
  • DPS: 85

This submachine gun has the highest damage and rate of penetration among all other models in the game. It also has the highest recoil and a rather slow firerate, but since SMGs are designed for close range combat. This little friend will deliver kills like no other.

Vector

  • Type: SMG
  • DPS: 80

In case you want to use SMG as your main weapon and you do care about the fastest firerate and low recoil, then Vector is definitely a much better choice than UMP45. It still has a decent damage output, and the only thing that could be improved is the magazine capacity.

B-Tier Weapons

M16

  • Type: Assault Rifle
  • DPS: 78

The good old M16 is a decent weapon in Back 4 Blood. It doesn’t have any significant drawbacks, but it doesn’t have any major advantages either. It’s just a well balanced automatic weapon that can be used in a variety of scenarios.

Uzi

  • Type: SMG
  • DPS: 76

Uzi has some major weaknesses that just can’t be ignored. It does have a fast rate of fire, which can play an important role against multiple enemies, but everything else, including damage, recoil, and rate of penetration are lackluster. It’ll do if you can’t find any other SMG, but keep your Uzi on a sidebench if you can.

Desert Eagle

  • Type: Pistol
  • DPS: 95

This sidearm weapon has an extremely high damage output for a mere handgun, which is possible due to a special sniper ammo that it uses. Sure, the rate of fire isn’t that high, but this thing can kill zombies in an instant due to its high rate of penetration.

Beretta M9 Burst

  • Type: Pistol
  • DPS: 56

There are two types of Beretta pistols in the game, but this one has burst fire mode, which is especially useful. It also has the fastest weapon swapping timing in the game, which is crucial for any sidearm weapon.

Those are the best weapons in Back 4 Blood open beta. Be sure to comeback after the release of the full game for an upgraded list!
