Baldur’s Gate 3: Where to Find Herdmaster Skarjall

Baldur’s Gate 3 has a ton of characters in it that you can easily pass by without realizing. Many have interesting conversations and, sometimes, quests that lead to fruitful rewards. One of those is Hermaster Skarjall. He can be missed pretty easily, but if you’re looking to complete as many side quests as possible, here’s where to find Herdmaster Skarjall in Baldur’s Gate 3.

Where to Find Herdmaster Skarjall in Baldur’s Gate 3

Finding the location of Herdmaster Skarjall requires a few steps. You encounter him in Act 1 in the Underdark, so that means you first need to make the decision to travel through the Underdark instead of through the Shadowed Lands. The Underdark is a much, much easier path and also has some great weapons to acquire along the way, while the Shadowed Lands are probably a more interesting path story-wise.

Herdmaster Skarjall’s Exact Location

You’ll meet Herdmaster Skarjall during a side quest to access the Adamantium Forge. You can find him in an area called the Gryforge. The Gryforge is reached by taking the boats in the Decrepit Village, and after being approached by other boats and given a few choices on how to get by them, you’ll eventually arrive there.

Once you’re there, you’ll find a herd of Duergar and a very surly fellow named Herdmaster Skarjall alongside them. He’s not a required NPC, but you can get access to a rewarding quest.

Unfortunately, if you choose the other path, Herdmaster Skarjall won’t be available to you, as you aren’t able to go back to areas in previous acts (for whatever reason). If you choose to help him, you’ll find yourself set off to find the Adamantium Forge.
