Best Summon Build in Death Must Die

Here is how to get the best Summon build in Death Must Die.

Summons can be a very, very powerful tool to fight off the seemingly endless hordes of enemies in Death Must Die, and I’ve had a lot of fun, sometimes even laughing hysterically at how much damage can come out of my loyal minions. Here are some of the best builds for Summons.

How to Play a Summon Build in Death Must Die

I’ll admit one thing immediately: I did the grind for the items and gold way ahead, which gives me flexibility, as well as knowledge that I can share with you. It might be too much to absorb, and it might take you a while to get the proper items and talents to benefit from this build fully, so I’d advise you to gradually gather items for this endeavor.

Best Characters and Talents for Summon Build in Death Must Die

Merris is the best character to play a Summon build with because Merris has quite a few talents that improve the strength and amount of her Summons (by “quite a few,” I actually mean “you’ll have a tough time selecting the best ones”). Here’s how to get talent points with Merris. However, I took the liberty of playing a Summon build with most other characters, and it was still pretty effective. Skadi has a Pet Wolf in her talents, for example, and Lorien has a powerful arrow as the ultimate talent ability.

Best Items for Summon Build in Death Must Die

As you may or may not know, randomness is a big factor in the item creation process in Death Must Die. I will present to you the eight items I have that bolster the efficiency of the Summon build so that you can know what to look out for when looting items.

Keywords to take note of, based on the patterns that we can establish by looking at the image above:

  • Ignoring – It summons an Onyx Dragon for you.
  • Skeletal Army – It summons a Skeletal Army for you.
  • of Revision – It summons a Green Parrot for you.
  • of Summoning – It improves your Summon Damage and/or Duration.

Most of these Summon-related items are Relics, Jewels, Rings, and Weapons. Basically, if you get these items in all the slots, you just started your own private Zoo in Death Must Die from Level 1.

Best Blessings for Summon Build in Death Must Die

I’ve found a couple of blessings you should definitely pick if you see them:

  • Winter, Goddess of Cold may offer Wolves (you need to be lucky enough to get them early), and a Frost Dragon (Legendary Tier).
  • Mort, Daughter of Death, may offer Ravens, Skeletons, and Snakes.
  • Summer, Goddess of Fire may offer a Fire Dragon. (Legendary Tier)
  • Time offers the blessing that gradually increases the damage of your Summons.

That’s all about summoning builds in Death Must Die. I hope you’ll make a good “Merris the Zookeeper” build. Check out our Death Must Die game hub, where you’ll find guides such as how to beat the Insect Queen.
