Have you noticed Cruise Missiles are suddenly broken? You can’t steer it while flying or aim it after the latest update. With it being a Killstreak that can turn the tide of a match, this is a major issue. So, can you fix the Cruise Missile not working in CoD MW3? Here’s what we know.
Why are Cruise Missiles Broken in CoD MW3?
As we’ve learned from games like Baldur’s Gate 3, sometimes devs patch in a fix that ultimately breaks something else. In CoD MW3‘s case, the February 21 patch addressed Cruise Missile UI issues and a problem where it exploded mid-air in Ranked Play, but now you can’t control it.
Thankfully, Sledgehammer Games is aware of the issue. The team listed the bug on the MW3 trello board under the card “Cruise Missile is unable to be controlled after implementation.” Currently, it’s labeled as “Investigating” on all platforms. Keep an eye out for a label update to “Fix Scheduled” or, even better, “Fix Released.” Both mean that your days of malfunctioning Cruise Missiles will come to an end.
Can You Fix Cruise Missiles Not Working in CoD MW3?
As you know, Cruise Missiles are major in public matches and Ranked Play. It’s one of the most consistent, devasting Killstreaks in the game. It makes sense that the community is searching for an unofficial fix until Sledgehammer rolls out a new patch.
This is where I’d usually give you standard, tried-and-true advice. Restart the game. Check your connection and run a speed test. Revert to default settings. Verify your game files (if playing on Steam). Unfortunately, those don’t apply in this case. You can’t fix the broken Cruise Missiles in CoD MW3.
