Many Warzone players in CoD: Modern Warfare 3 have gotten stuck on the fetching online profile screen when trying to load in. It can be a mystifying message, but here, I’ll provide a few possible solutions to fix the MW3 Warzone fetching online profile error.

Possible Solutions and Fixes for the Fetching Online Profile Error in Modern Warfare 3 Warzone

1. Update Modern Warfare 3

The fetching online profile error has been one of the biggest issues addressed in the latest patch from Raven Software. So be sure to update your game and follow the developer’s official X/Twitter for any extra news. The post Reloaded update patch has also seemingly helped fix the menu loading error and the loadout glitch.

2. Check Warzone Server Status

However, as we’ve seen in the past, these issues can pop up repeatedly, and if you’ve run into it, there are some other potential fixes to consider. This error may also appear if the Warzone servers are overloaded. I highly recommend checking the official MW3 server status page before attempting to fix anything.

If there are any indications that the servers are offline or malfunctioning, then all you need to do is stay patient and wait before they go back online.

3. Verify Integrity of Game Files

If you play the Steam version of Modern Warfare 3, then it’s a good idea to verify the integrity of the MW3 game files, which may have been corrupted in the latest update.

  1. Start Steam.
  2. Select the “Library” tab.
  3. Right-click on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
  4. Select the “Properties” from the list.
  5. Go to the “Local Files” tab.
  6. Select the “Verify Integrity of Game Files” option.

4. Change Your DNS Settings

Incorrect DNS settings on your PC or console can also cause an online profile error in MW3. You can change these settings in the “Network and Internet” menu on your platform. The best DNS servers for Warzone are the following:

  • IPv4 settings:
    • Primary DNS: 8.8.8.8
    • Secondary DNS: 8.8.4.4
  • IPv6 settings:
    • Primary DNS: 2001:4860:4860::8888
    • Secondary DNS: 2001:4860:4860::8844
