Cyberpunk 2077: How to Complete Second Conflict

Cyberpunk 2077's Second Conflict mission is a fun romp and ties up loose ends. Here's how to complete it.

Cyberpunk 2077 has tons of side quests, and many of these only appear if you’ve made certain choices throughout the main story. This interconnectivity is something few games have managed to do so seamlessly, and Cyberpunk 2077 nails it in this regard. One of the best examples of this is the quest called Second Conflict. Here’s how to complete Second Conflict in Cyberpunk 2077 and get the Gold Plated Bat weapon.

How to Complete Second Conflict in Cyberpunk 2077

First things first: you need to complete the mission called Holdin’ On before getting Second Conflict to appear on your map. This is the second part of the Samurai band reunion questline, so make sure that’s taken care of before continuing on.

Once the mission starts, your goal will be to get some valuable information for a reporter named Nancy, whom Johnny Silverhand used to be in a band with. She needs you to play bodyguard as she interviews someone. You do this side gig for her, and she’ll return to the band. The actual nature of the quest is a bit more complex, however, so we’ll walk you through how to complete this one as effectively as possible.

Where to Go in Totentanz

Take the elevator in the abandoned hotel to access Totentanz. You’ll meet either Dum Dum or Patricia. Depending on who’s there, one of two things will happen. Brick will either welcome you, or there will be a fight. The best way to complete Second Conflict is to have Dum Dum and Royce alive and deal with them to get Nancy her interview. Having them alive keeps the bar from turning completely hostile.

Regardless of who’s there, one of the thugs will mention he’ll scan Nancy on the way out. Nancy, of course, has far more footage on her eye camera than she’s letting on and knows its information will cause Maelstrom to stop acting so nicely. Nancy wants you to take her data so it doesn’t get wiped and she doesn’t get killed. You’ll agree and set up an escape.

How to Escape Totentanz

Nancy is waiting for you downstairs. Once she starts to leave, quickly exit via the bathroom window near Nancy. Follow the path, and go through another window. There will be several guards inside. This area is a pain: the slightest noise or misstep will trigger each guard. Now is the time to use silenced weapons if you have them.

Once they’re done, continue on and defeat the security detail in your way, then head into the elevator. Next, go with Nancy to Denny’s. When you arrive, you’ll be tasked with figuring out what happened here. Check out the side of the house to shed some light on that.

Should You Pick Denny or Henry?

After the scene near the pool, you’ll choose between Denny and Henry, though that choice is only cosmetic and ultimately inconsequential to the overall narrative. Grab the Gold Plated Bat from the pool here. I didn’t get it on my first playthrough, but I wished I had. It’s a shockingly powerful weapon that will be a huge help regardless of your level at this point in the game.

That’s everything you need to know about how to complete the Second Conflict in Cyberpunk 2077. The game is back and better than ever, so taking on the various quests all over again with the 2.0 update is definitely worth experiencing.
