Everything We Know About the Cyberpunk 2077 Multiplayer Mod

As far as an official mod that you can play, a Cyberpunk 2077 multiplayer mod doesn’t exist right now. In 2022, there was the birth of a multiplayer mod that even had a Youtube video showing off what the gameplay might be like.

The mod showcases multiplayer gameplay involving one player controlling V and the other controlling Jackie. While a novel idea, at least in this implementation, would have no way of working due to how the story plays out with Jackie. There is also evidence of the mod working further into the game, as evidenced here with Takemura taking Jackie’s place.

The Cyberpunk 2077 multiplayer mod was being developed by Cyberscript77, however, according to their website, they have abandoned the project. It’s unfortunate as the gameplay looks pretty smooth, but it was a very early build and there was clearly some kind of issue that prevented it from getting beyond a beta point. There is hope though, the team is still interested in creating a multiplayer mod at some point, and perphaps the recent 2.0 update will allow them to complete it one day.

There is no news in regards to any new Cyberpunk 2077 multiplayer mod at this point, but that doesn’t mean another modder won’t take the mantle in the future. For the time being though, we’re left out in the cold when it comes to exploring Night City with a friend. For more information on Cyberpunk 2077, check out our guides section.
