How to Use the Tarot Card Deck in Demonologist

Tarot Cards are found randomly across the map over the course of your investigation. It can be hard to find since it’s a small item, but it has a blinking glow making it easier to spot in the dark.

You’ll need an open equipment slot in order to pick the Tarot Cards up. Once you have the deck equipped and selected, use the LMB to pull the top card. Depending on the card’s effect, you may want to continue drawing cards.

Demonologist Tarot Card Effects

Since each card has a different effect, each draw can result in a different impact on the hunt. There are 10 card types in total, and multiples of certain cards can show up in the deck you obtain.

  • Void: Placeholder card with no effect, most common card type. Draw another.
  • Flame of Fate: Raises or lowers Sanity.
  • Death: Instantly triggers a hunt with a ghost attack.
  • Moon: Lowers Sanity.
  • Sun: Raises Sanity.
  • The Devil: Boosts ghost’s activity.
  • Aggressive: Boosts ghost’s aggression.
  • Slave: Prevents ghost from changing rooms.
  • Angel: Revives dead teammate.
  • Guillotine: Instant death.

Using a Crucifix can nullify the effect of Death, but pulling the Guillotine card will result in the player using the deck dying instantly. If you find the Tarot Card deck early in the game and have no need for it, you can always put it aside in your tent for later.

Those are all the effects of the Tarot Cards in Demonologist. Using the deck is a bit like gambling, you could win big with Slave and Sun or lose big with Guillotine and Death.
