Destiny 2: The Best Way to Get Impossible Heat During The Dawning 2023

If you're looking for Impossible Heat during The Dawning 2023 in Destiny 2, you won't have to look hard or long.

Of all the ingredients you can find during The Dawning 2023 in Destiny 2, Impossible Heat is probably going to be one of the most plentiful. This is, after all, a season where Solar is more in the sunlight, and playing with fire is as fun as it’s ever been.

As you might’ve guessed, you get Impossible Heat by defeating enemies with Solar damage. That damage can come from any source, whether weapon or ability. It also drops from any enemy type in the game, be the trash mob, boss, or enemy Guardian. To farm it, however, you’ll want to go someplace where you get lots of kills quickly and keep the enemies flowing for as long as you can tolerate farming them.

How to Farm Impossible Heat in Destiny 2

For my money, there are only two places in Destiny 2 where you should farm Impossible Heat: the Grasp of Avarice opening encounter and the Altars of Sorrow on the Moon.

The enemies in the Grasp of Avarice Dungeon opening encounter — available only to those with the 30th Anniversary Pack — are technically a little bit harder to defeat than at the Altars of Sorrow, but they’re still more than weak enough to defeat with any weapon in the game.

For the Grasp farm of Impossible Heat, I recommend bringing your favorite Solar class and the seasonal Dragon’s Breath Exotic Rocket Launcher. For classes, Solar Titan with the Sol Invictus Aspect is probably the easiest class to use by far, as you can plant the Sunspot your abilities create right in front of or just inside the cave entrance and watch as the Hive run headlong to their deaths. The Dragon’s Breath is along for the ride should you want some extra variety or if you also want to farm Delicious Explosion, another of the cookie ingredients you’ll need.

Altars of Sorrow is for those players who haven’t purchased the 30th Anniversary content or who want a break from its monotony. Like Grasp, Altars of Sorrow offers infinite amounts of weak Hive mobs and a few bosses. Though, unlike Grasp, you’re liable to be competing with the players for kills. Altars is nice because, should you and other players make it to the final round, you’ll get some nice rewards. Older weapons and currency, for sure, but it’s better than nothing.

The other free and profitable way to farm for Impossible Heat, and any other ingredient really, is through the tried and true grinding of Strikes. Head into the base-level Vanguard Ops playlist with a full kit of Solar weapons and a Solar subclass, pop on a podcast, stream, or long YouTube essay, and chill. It’s not the most engaging of activities, especially after so many years of the same, but you’re also earning Vanguard reputation, Engrams, Exotics, and farming for currency. Plus, it’s not nearly as monotonous as doing Grasp or Altars for hours on end.
