Diablo 4 Necromancer Golems are a true game-changer for the class, and they’ll be something you want to seek out as you increase levels and tweak your build. Our guide tells you everything you need to know if you want to unlock Necromancer Golems in Diablo 4.

How to Get the Call of the Underworld Quest

If you’re playing as a Necro, then you’ll need to reach Level 25 first before getting this quest. Once that happens, the Necromancer: Call of the Underworld quest will appear in your log. Completing it is somewhat akin to class-specific objectives required to unlock other mechanics or facets.

Shrine of Rathma Location

The Diablo 4 Call of the Underworld quest tasks you with praying at a Shrine of Rathma, the first Nephalem who became a Necromancer with the help of the dragon, Trag’Oul. (Okay, I’ll stop with lore references now).

The Shrine of Rathma location is in Fractured Peaks — Sarkova Pass, west of Kyovashad. The exact location will be marked on your map as long as you’re tracking the quest.

How to get Unbroken Bones

After praying at the Shrine of Rathma, a spirit named Maltorius will speak with you. You’ll then need to collect 12 Unbroken Bones, which is an incredibly easy task. Simply defeat the undead around the base of the hill to gather the items.

Unlocking D4 Necromancer Golems: The Bitter Cave and Jar of Souls

Maltorius will mark the location of the Bitter Cave on your map. Inside the cave is an event like the Jar of Souls event you can encounter on the overworld map. Once you interact with the statue, though, several enemies will spawn. Use your early-game abilities to survive the onslaught. In my case, I prioritized Blood abilities, so I kept casting Hemorrhage, with the occasional Blood Surge (i.e., Blood Nova).

When most of the hostiles have been eliminated, you’ll have to take out a Phantasmal Tyrant elite. It’s a banshee-type mob with the Mortar and Multishot affixes, so try to avoid the barrages when you can.

After eliminating all your foes, Maltorius will deem you worthy of using Diablo 4 Necromancer golems. It will also complete the Call of the Underworld quest.

How to Unlock More Necromancer Golems in Diablo 4

Unfortunately, only the Bone Golem is available at Level 25. You’ll unlock the Blood Golem and Iron Golem at Level 28 and Level 32, respectively. Still, with these options, you might want to know which is ideal in the long run. For that, you can head on over to our best Golem guide.

But that’s everything you need to know about how to unlock Diablo 4 Necromancer golems and complete the Call of the Underworld quest. There’s so much more to do in Blizzard’s latest ARPG, so if you’re looking for more tips, strategies, and walkthroughs, head over to our D4 guides page.
