How to Complete The Pilgrim’s Footsteps in Diablo 4

To begin The Pilgrim’s Footsteps, you’ll need to head to the Kehjistan area known as Searing Expanse. It’s the area right now the word Kehjistan on the map. You’ll find a book in a small outcropping that’s next to as climbing wall. Upon reading the book the quest will start.

The next portion of the quest is to follow in the pilgrim’s footsteps. What the text specifically says is:

“Walk the road of faith to a lone desert chapel. Stand at Akarat’s feet, follow his example, and be rewarded.”

When looking at the map, we can see that a general location of the chapel has been circled in an area to the north. Go to that spot, I happened to zigzag my way up in as direct a fashion as possible. Arriving at the circled area you’ll find that the only path leads you straight to a large statue in a small pavilion.

This is where the quest gets tricky. According to the text, you need follow Akarat’s example to get the treasure. Well Akarat’s standing there with a book and some sort of star in one hand. Completely perplexed I tried a variety of emotes, including the Pointing emote both in front and behind the statue. Nothing happened.

Thinking back to previous emote quests I’ve completed, I decided that the solution to the riddle could be right in the text. Standing in front of the statue of Akarat I used the Follow emote. Bingo! The chest popped up on the statue’s right side. I received some items, gold, XP and Renown for completing the quest.

That’s how to solve The Pilgrim’s Footsteps riddle and end the quest. For the other emote quest solutions, check out our guides. Looking for other quest help? Possibly need some class builds? We have those, too. Go check them out.
