Does Hogwarts Legacy Have a Photo Mode?

If you're wondering if Hogwarts Legacy has a photo mode, this guide has the answer.

No matter how bare bones or intricate they are, photo modes give players the ability to take some stunning screenshots in their favorite games. But does Hogwarts Legacy have a photo mode? This guide will give you the answer, while also providing tips for how to customize the game’s HUD.

Is There a Photo Mode in Hogwarts Legacy?

The short answer to “Does Hogwarts Legacy have a photo mode” is no, there is no photo mode. Not yet anyway. It’s always possible that WB Games will add screen capture tool to the game in a future update, just as Sony Santa Monica did for God of War: Ragnarok after its release. However, fans will have to wait and see.

However, Hogwarts Legacy has a number of customizable options that can allow players to get around this omission to take clean screenshots while playing the game. And it all revolves around the HUD.

How to Remove the HUD to Take Photo Mode Screenshots in Hogwarts Legacy

For taking general screenshots while exploring the world and various locales such as Hogwarts in-game, do the following:

  • Pause the game.
  • Go to Settings.
  • Scroll down to User Interface Options at the bottom.
  • Turn off the following:
    • Show HUD Tracking Icons
    • Show Standard Notifications
    • Show Quest Notifications
    • Show Spell HUD
    • Show Health/Ancient Magic Meter
    • Show Minimap

If you want to also take clean screenshots while in combat, turn off the Show Enemy/Target Info and Show Enemy Damage Numbers options. Further, when taking screenshots while on mounts, turn off the Show Mount Controls setting.

You’ll likely also want to turn off subtitles, since background NPC conversations can trigger at various moments, potentially souring the perfectly-framed shot just as you press the Share button on Xbox or PlayStation. Of course, disabling these HUD elements is possible on the PC version of the game as well.

While having a dedicated Hogwarts Legacy photo mode at launch would be nice, would-be video game photographers at least have an option by removing HUD elements in until one is (hopefully) added in the future. Our Hogwarts Legacy guides page has more useful info.
