Enshrouded: How to Get More Shroud Wood Fast

Shroud Wood isn't obtained from normal trees in Enshrouded. Here's where to find it fast.

Like everything else, the Shroud has corrupted the very trees that grow from the ground. An important crafting material needed to make the Glider, the Scrappy Axe, and more, you may be wondering where to find Shroudwood. Here, I’ll tell you how to get Shroud Wood faster in Enshrouded.

How to Get Shroud Wood Quickly in Enshrouded

To get Shroud Wood, chop down trees in the Shroud and fog. In the Springlands Shroud, chop trees that have lost most of their leaves, with shortening branches as they rise to the top. Any trees that look the same as those found when not enshrouded only drop Wood Logs.

You can often see the trees that drop Shroud Wood peaking through the top of the fog before you enter. I usually scope out a section of Shroud before heading in, keeping the same direction as the large clump of trees I saw. If you have the Glider, this becomes even easier to accomplish.

You can chop any tree, including Shroud Trees, down with any axe you find. An enemy dropped a battle axe for me, and I used it for a while. However, these are slow. Craft the Scrappy Axe (Felling Axe) for x3 String, x4 Metal Scraps, and x 1 Shroud Wood at the Blacksmith after finding him during the Sleeping Survivor quest.

The best place to get Shroud Wood when building your first base is the section of fog under the Braelyn Bridge. The Travel Through the Shroud quest brings you there, it has a Reset Time hourglass, and plenty of trees to chop.

Not only are there resources to collect, but you’ll face easy enemies, as well as have multiple routes out of the Shroud if your time gets low. If you stay close to the bridge area, you won’t face Shroud Bugs or more advanced Fell.

While exploring ruins or Elixir Wells, check all the nooks and crannies. Stacks of Shroud Wood sometimes lie around waiting to be picked up. Smash wood shelves, crates, and broken wagons. They drop Shroud Wood instead of Wood Logs occasionally.

What is Shroud Wood Used for in Enshrouded?

Aside from the Glider, there are some very specific uses for Shroud Wood. Though I’ve put dozens of hours into Enshrouded already, there are tons of crafting recipes. This list is a work in progress as I navigate the game and upgrade crafting. I’ll update it as I find more Shroud Wood recipes.

  • Glider
  • Shroud Wood Block
  • Spiritual Cane
  • Scrappy Axe
  • Scrappy Pickaxe

That’s how to get Shroud Wood faster in Enshrouded. Used in building and crafting, it’s easy to stock up on at the beginning of the game. For more resource locations, how to gain EXP quickly, or more on the Shroud itself, check out our growing guides hub.
