How to Find and Farm Nuclear Material in Fallout 76

There’s one way to get nuclear material in Appalachia — and that’s through scraping junk items to get the resource. You’ll find a number of items that break down into nuclear material, even those that may not seem like they would. Here’s a list of items that do, as well as how many units of nuclear material you’ll get.

  • Biometric Scanner: 1 unit
  • Blast Radius Board Game: 1 unit
  • High-powered Magnet: 1 unit
  • Ichor Sac: 2 units
  • Ignition Core: 3 units
  • Mini Nuke Beryllium Cap: 1 unit
  • Mini Nuke Detonator Shell: 1 unit
  • Mini Nuke Hemisphere Core: 1 unit
  • Nuclear waste: 1 unit
  • Rad Poker Board Game: 1 unit
  • Radioactive Gland: 1 unit
  • Radscorpion Stinger: 2 units
  • Vault-Tec Alarm Clock: 1 unit
  • Volatile Materials Box: 1 unit

The most prominent of these is nuclear waste. While it only gives you one unit of nuclear material, it’s easily crafted at a Chemistry Station by combining 5 Acid and 5 Uranium Ore. Along with this method, you can get nuclear waste by completing the Path to Enlightenment or Uranium Fever events, collecting it from enemies, or farming it at known spawn locations.

How to Get Nuclear Waste from Enemies

Certain enemies have a chance to drop nuclear waste when killed. Behemoths will always have between one and five units.

  • Those turned into goo with plasma weapons.
  • Those located in a blast zone.
  • Glowing enemies.

If you’re in need of large amounts of nuclear material, donning a hazmat suit and heading to the site of a nuclear explosion is your best bet.

Nuclear Waste Farm Locations

  • Kanawha Nuka-Cola Plant.
  • Big Bend Tunnel East near the tunnel entrance.
  • Big Al’s Tattoo Parlor in Biv’s closet.

That’s where you can find and farm nuclear material, as well as nuclear waste, in Fallout 76. If you’re in need of other resources, want to know where to hunt cryptids, or how to complete various quests, head over to our guides vault.
