You may like your primary tradecraft in Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, but did you know you can use cross-class skills from other Disciples of the Hand?

Making use of cross-class skills is handy enough when playing a combat class, but is something novice crafters either don’t notice or forget as they plow through their primary tradecraft.

Cross-class skills are essential because they make the whole process easier once you’ve chosen and gotten those that work best for your crafting style. Want more durability? Dip into leatherworking or goldsmithing. Think additional CP might help? Tricks of the Trade from alchemy works great.

The purpose of the list of skills below is for you to see which ones can be used regardless of your currently equipped tradecraft to make the most out of your crafting. Reaching level 37 or 50 in a craft jus to get a single skill may be pushing it a bit, but in some cases it can be worth it in the long run.

So which skills are tradecraft skills are cross-class?

Each tradecraft has three cross-class skills, with each new one becoming available at levels 15, 37, and 50.

Below I have listed out each of these skills for you to pick and choose, and aim for in your crafting. Those that are marked with an asterisk (*) do not consume durability upon use.

Leatherworker cross-class skills

Waste Not (Level 15) Reduces loss of durability by 50% for the next four steps. (Cost: 56 CP; Only available once per synth.) *

Brand of Earth (Level 37) – Increases progress. Progress doubles when recipe affinity is earth. (Efficiency: 100%/200% for earth affinity recipes; Success rate: 90%; Cost: 15 CP)

Waste Not II (Level 50) Reduces loss of durability by 50% for the next eight steps. (Cost: 98 CP; Only available once per synth.) *

Weaver cross-class skills

Careful Synthesis (Level 15) Increases progress. (Efficiency: 90%; Success rate: 100%; Cost: none; Only available once per synthesis.)

Brand of Lightning (Level 37) Increases progress. Progress doubles when recipe affinity is lightning. (Efficiency: 100%/200% for lightning affinity recipes; Success rate: 90%; Cost: 15 CP)

 Careful Synthesis II (Level 50) Increases progress. (Efficiency: 120%; Success rate: 100%; Cost: none; Only available once per synthesis.)

Alchemist cross-class skills

Tricks of the Trade (Level 15) Restores 20 CP. Can only be used when material status is good. (Cost: none) *

Brand of Water (Level 37) Increases progress. Progress doubles when recipe affinity is water. (Efficiency: 100%/200% for water affinity recipes; Success rate: 90%; Cost: 15 CP)

Comfort Zone (Level 50)Restores 8 CP after each step for the next ten steps. (Cost: 66 CP; Only available once per synthesis.) *

Armorer cross-class skills

Rapid Synthesis (Level 15)Increases progress. (Efficiency: 250%; Success rate: 50%; Cost: none)

Brand of Ice (Level 37) Increases progress. Progress doubles when recipe affinity is ice. (Efficiency: 100%/200% for ice affinity recipes; Success rate: 90%; Cost: 15 CP)

Piece by Piece (Level 50) Increases remaining progress by 1/3. (Success rate: 90%; Cost: 15 CP)

Culinarian cross-class skills

Hasty Touch (Level 15) Increases quality and requires no CP. (Efficiency: 100%; Success rate: 50%; Cost: none)

Steady Hand II (Level 37) Improves action success rate by 30% for the next five steps. (Cost: 25 CP) *

Reclaim (Level 50) Increases the chance materials will not be lost after botched synthesis to 90% (Cost: 55 CP) *

Blacksmith cross-class skills

Ingenuity (Level 15) Lowers recipe level to current level for the next three steps. (Cost: 24 CP) *

 Brand of Fire (Level 37) –Increases progress. Progress doubles when recipe affinity is fire. (Efficiency: 100%/200% for fire affinity recipes; Success rate: 90%; Cost: 15 CP) 

Ingenuity II (Level 50) Lowers recipe level three below current level for the next five steps. (Cost: 32 CP) *

Goldsmith cross-class abilities

Manipulation (Level 15) Restores 10 points of durability after each step for the next three steps. (Cost: 88 CP) *

 Flawless Synthesis (Level 37) Increases progress by 40. (Success rate: 90%; Cost: 15 CP)

Innovation (Level 50) Increases control by 50% for the next five steps. (Cost: 18 CP) *

Carpenter cross-class skills

Ruminaton (Level 15) Removes Inner Quiet effect and restores CP proportional to the number of times control was increased. (Cost: none) *

 Brand of Wind (Level 37) Increases progress. Progress doubles when recipe affinity is wind. (Efficiency: 100%/200% for wind affinity recipes; Success rate: 90%; Cost: 15 CP) 

Byregot’s Blessing (Level 50) Increases quality. (Efficiency: 100% plus 20% for each bonus to control granted by Inner Quiet; Success rate: 70%; Cost: 24 CP)
