Genshin Impact: Everything You Need to Know About the Memory of Dust

There is a new weapon that is making waves in the Genshin Impact community. Check out how to earn the fabled Memory of Dust right here.

Genshin Impact recently received a new version update, titled “A New Star Approaches.” This version 1.1 update added a bevy of new and exciting activities and items alike for players to toy with, one of the biggest being the Memory of Dust weapon.

The Memory of Dust is a five-star catalyst weapon. Focused on improving shield strength and attack bonus, this item can be an incredible catalyst weapon for any character that can wield it.

Offering information on the recent update, Developer miHoYo has since come forward to describe the weapon in more detail. Read on to find out more.

What is the Memory of Dust

“A stone dumbbell containing distant memories.” The developer said. “Its endless transformations reveal the power within.”

Of course, there is no better explanation of a Genshin Impact weapon than a reveal of its stats and benefits as it is ascended.

  • Rank 1: Increases Shield Strength by 20%. Scoring hits on opponents increases ATK by 4% for 8s. Max 5 stacks. Can only occur once every 0.3s. While protected by a shield, this ATK increase effect is increased by 100%.
  • Rank 2: Increases Shield Strength by 25%. Scoring hits on opponents increases ATK by 5% for 8s. Max 5 stacks. Can only occur once every 0.3s. While protected by a shield, this ATK increase effect is increased by 100%.
  • Rank 3:  Increases Shield Strength by 30%. Scoring hits on opponents increases ATK by 6% for 8s. Max 5 stacks. Can only occur once every 0.3s. While protected by a shield, this ATK increase effect is increased by 100%.
  • Rank 4: Increases Shield Strength by 35%. Scoring hits on opponents increases ATK by 7% for 8s. Max 5 stacks. Can only occur once every 0.3s. While protected by a shield, this ATK increase effect is increased by 100%.
  • Rank 5: Increases Shield Strength by 40%. Scoring hits on opponents increases ATK by 8% for 8s. Max 5 stacks. Can only occur once every 0.3s. While protected by a shield, this ATK increase effect is increased by 100%.

While the scaling effects of the Memory of Dust are certainly nothing to scoff at, the weapon’s base stats are impressive in their own right. From level 20 to level 90, the weapon’s base ATK ranges from 122 to 608. All in all, this is one weapon that many players are going to be trying to get their hands on for some time. Luckily, it’s not impossible to find.

How to get the Memory of Dust

The Memory of Dust will soon be as rare as it is powerful. Consequently, it is imperative that all interested players take advantage of the item’s current increased drop rate before it declines.

The Memory of Dust can be earned through the new Epitome Invocation event wish that has been added through the recent version 1.1 update. Having started upon the release of the update, this event wish will continue until December 1, 2020. After that, the weapon will become significantly more difficult to obtain.

With stunning effects and impressive base stats, the Memory of Dust will likely always be worth the effort provided you run a catalyst user. If you found this guide helpful, check out our other Genshin Impact guides here on GameSkinny.
