How to Unlock the Best Ultimate Abilities in Ghostrunner 2

You can unlock the best ultimate abilities in Ghostrunner 2 by progressing further in the campaign and collecting Memory Shards. These are purple chips scattered throughout various levels. Acquiring more of these items nets you additional ultimate abilities that can be used, as well as extra skill chip slots in your Motherboard so you can equip more upgrades.

You can only equip a single Ghostrunner 2 ultimate ability at any given time. By default, these powers only come at level 1. However, once you have the Ultimate Booster I and Ultimate Booster II skill chips, you can use their level 2 and level 3 effects. Moreover, once an ultimate’s duration has elapsed, you’ll have to kill more enemies just to recharge it fully.

Which Ghostrunner 2 Ultimate to Use

These are the ultimate abilities that you can unlock in Ghostrunner 2:

Flux

  • Level 1: Charge up a laser fired in a straight line, cutting through hostiles in its way.
  • Level 2: Increased duration.
  • Level 3: Instantly charged and ready to fire.

Blink

  • Level 1: Target and dash through two enemies, killing them instantly.
  • Level 2: For a few seconds after using Blink, you can cast it again to return to your original location.
  • Level 3: Blink can target up to three enemies.

Overlord

  • Level 1: Mindhack an enemy who’ll then fight alongside you.
  • Level 2: For a few seconds after using Overlord, you can cast it again to blow up the mindhacked enemy.
  • Level 3: Overlord can mindhack up to two enemies.

Sensory Overdrive

  • Level 1: Enables bullet time and slows down everything around you.
  • Level 2: Increased duration.
  • Level 3: Each dash action grants the option to gap-jam (i.e. grapple) towards an enemy for two seconds.

Motoric Overheat

  • Level 1: Temporarily allows you to move faster, jump higher, and jump farther.
  • Level 2: Increases your energy regeneration rate while this ultimate is active.
  • Level 3: Makes you immune to one deadly hit while active.

Personally, I consider Flux to be the best ultimate in Ghostrunner 2, even if it’s only rank 2. It’s a fairly straightforward, long-range ability. With the laser activated, I simply aimed from left to right to mow down several hostiles. Likewise, I feel that Sensory Overdrive is fairly decent. It complements the Sensory Boost action, which already slows down time when you keep the dash button held down.
