Here's how to reroll in Honkai: Star Rail to get the best pulls you can.

Honkai Star Rail Reroll Guide

Here's how to reroll in Honkai: Star Rail to get the best pulls you can.

The best characters, equipment, and upgrades in Honkai Star Rail are locked behind the game’s random gacha mechanics, and you may be forced to reroll for what you want. You aren’t guaranteed anything, no matter how much time — or real-world money — you spend, but you can up your chances by rerolling your first 5-star Standard Banner pull. Our guide below explains how rerolling works in Honkai Star Rail.

How to Reroll 5-Star Characters in Honkai Star Rail

Here are the steps for rerolling characters in Honkai Star Rail.

  • Start a new account with a new email address.
  • Progress until you earn the ability to Warp at Trailblaze Level 5.
  • Spend all of your Star Rail Passes at the Departure Warp.
  • Repeat as many times as necessary to get the 5-Star character you want.

During the opening weeks of Honkai Star Rail, one of the banners has a 20% reduced pull cost, which is eight Star Rail Passes instead of 10.

By the time you make it out of the tutorial section with Kafka and Silver Wolf — eventually unlocking the ability to Warp — you’ll have just enough Passes for 50 pulls, which guarantees a single 5-star character.

What’s not guaranteed is which one you’ll get, and there’s no way to force the issue other than to reroll. Admittedly, it’s a bit of a laborious prospect. As much as we’d like to say it, there is no better way to reroll your Warp pulls, so you’ll need to figure out the character you want ahead of time.

The Best Characters to Reroll For

Out of the currently available 5-star characters, the following three are the ones we recommend as the best right now:

  • Welt is the only Imaginary damage dealer in the game right now, specializing in debuffs.
  • Himeko is probably the most versatile DPS currently available, and Fire-element damage is in high demand.
  • Bronya is a buff master, and her Wind element is also one of the more useful throughout the campaign.

Getting Clara isn’t a bad choice either, as her counter-attack-focused gameplay pairs well with March 7th’s ability to create shields, or indeed any support-style character with the ability to keep Clara topped-up. Clara was my first 5-star, and Welt was my second, and both helped carry me through most of the game’s content.

I managed Bronya as well, and coupling her with Seele has been an absolute boon. As rerolling only takes a half-hour at most, play a little with the first 5-star you get, then make a decision from there.

That’s how to reroll in Honkai Star Rail and the best pulls you should be looking for right now. HSR is a massive game with tons of content to push through. We’ve covered some of the most important bits, including how Warp banners work, how to access Daily quests, and how to get and use Light Cones.
