Before we discuss potential Battery locations in TotK, let’s take note of the item’s function. The Battery is used to keep other Zonai Devices and makeshift vehicles running.

Once a Battery device has been fully drained, your Energy Cell will deplete gradually. There are also two variants: Batteries and Big Batteries. Of course, the Big Batteries have as much power as several Batteries combined. They’re more valuable and, thus, rarer.

TotK Battery Sources and Drops

As for how to get more Battery devices in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, there are a few sources:

  • Some can be found as regular loot in chests.
  • There are armories or abandoned Zonai construction areas that have various devices.
  • The Flux Construct boss tends to drop various Zonai Devices. These tend to be random.
  • And, of course, there are Zonai Device Dispensers, too.

Using Tears of the Kingdom Zonai Device Dispensers for Batteries

A Zonai Device Dispenser can sometimes net you those all-important Batteries in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. However, each machine has its own selection pool. Moreover, you’ll need to place Zonai Charges or Large Zonai Charges. Like a gachapon machine, the rewards will still be random.

Below, we’ve listed some dispenser locations in the Sky region. We’ve also added a map for your convenience:

  • North Hyrule Sky Archipelago: Bravery Island
  • South Eldin Sky Archipelago
  • Lanayru Sky Archipelago: Wind Temple
  • South Lanayru Sky Archipelago
  • Faron Sky Archipelago: Thunderhead Isles

I personally prefer using the Zonai Device Dispensers in the Sky region if I need extra Batteries. Although there are a few in the Surface and Depths, those in the Sky region tend to be right next to Shrines, making them viable for fast travel.

In any case, the Tears of the Kingdom Battery device is but one of many items that you can find in this massive game. For tips, tricks, and walkthroughs, visit our Zelda TotK guides hub.
