Escape From Tarkov‘s latest patch  update 0.12.2.5485  might have come some two years after the game first entered beta, but it added a limited time Twitch campaign that got the attention of popular streamers such as Dr. Disrespect, Kotton, and Deadlyslob. Consequently, many are now wondering how to play the game and get in on the action.

Escape From Takov Features and Factions

EFT is a story-driven multiplayer first-person shooter that offers both combat and non-combat activities, such as:

  • Completing massive raids in co-op or solo modes
  • Locating intel to flesh out a growing story and world
  • Actively adapting to the game’s environment
  • Communicating and trading with NPCs
  • Selling loot in auctions
  • Establishing your own combat groups
  • Building your own hideouts

All of this can be achieved through several factions available in the game:

  • USEC
  • BEAR
  • Scavs
  • Scav Raiders

Each faction has unique abilities and skillsets, allowing them to affect the game in different ways. For example, USEC relies on AR systems, long-range optics, and negotiations to navigate the city and the world of Tarkov.

However, Scavs, which populate the game as both AI and player-controlled characters, rely on weapons and gear found in the field and thus, wield random equipment and weapons.

Will Escape From Tarkov Come to PS4 or Xbox One?

As of now, there is no word on if EFT will come to PS4 or Xbox One consoles. If the game were to release on consoles, it’s would conceivably launch on next-gen systems, such as the PS5 and Xbox Series X.

However, it would be extremely difficult for Battlestate Games to port Escape From Tarkov to a console due to the game’s large amount of highly complex controls and key binds.
