Chained Together is a harsh, brutal, rage-inducing platformer game where you are supposed to climb to the top, and if you slip and fall down, you gotta climb again. Here’s how to save the game and use checkpoints to prevent yourself from repeating the climb.
How to Manually Save Game in Chained Together
Saving the game is somewhat different in Chained Together than what you might have gotten used to in other video games. When you press Escape, you will have the option to Save and Quit in the bottom-right corner. What this does is that it forms a save file that you can later use when you want to start playing again.
Does Chained Together Have Checkpoints?
Indeed, there are checkpoints for the Beginner difficulty, and they can be found at the following heights:
- 576 meters
- 1675 meters
- 2757 meters
To activate the checkpoint, you need to walk up to it within its visible circle. Also, while in-game, when you press Escape on your keyboard, you will have the teleport options to use at will:
- Nearest Safe Location: If your character is stuck, you can teleport back to the safest location closest to the spot where you got stuck.
- Highest Unlocked Point: This teleports you to the highest achieved height in case you fall off too far.
- Load Checkpoint: Loads the best unlocked checkpoint.
How to Load Save Game in Chained Together
Loading a game is possible from the main menu when you are trying to start a game. On the right side, you will have the option to load a save file, and once you click it, you’ll see a list of saved files from the games you hosted, as well as the games you participated in. You can’t really name a save file at this moment, but you should be able to recognize it based on the time played, height reached, and other indicators.
That’s all about save/load and checkpoint options in Chained Together. I hope you’ll enjoy the game with as little stress as possible.
